Some very suggestive photos there, too. It looks like she was hanging out with a pretty rough crowd, I wonder if there were drugs involved? Seems there was some resentment between her boyfriend and the parents, as they probably were trying to get her to find some new friends.

Also Friday, prosecutors charged Ford with felonious assault in the March 23 attack on Chelsea Schobert. He is scheduled to appear by video at 8 a.m. Saturday for a hearing in that case.

Another man who had been charged in that case has been released.

So not only did the boyfriend witness the alleged beating of Chelsea, he participated. Or is he now the only one charged with that crime?

New Franklin Detective Mike Hitchings said the department is trying to determine if anyone else was involved in the slayings. He said he does not think the case is drug-related.

“It was a bad scene. It was a horrific scene,” he said of the crime scene.

“I don’t like to judge anyone,” Hitchings said. “It is a horrific crime. I don’t know how anyone could do anything like that, but it did happen.”

On Friday, Akron police filed a felonious assault charge against 18-year-old Shawn Ford for the March 23 beating of his girlfriend Chelsea Schobert.

Schobert was stabbed and suffered a skull fracture after an attack inside an Akron home on Andrus Street. She remains a patient at Akron Children's Hospital

So it appears police discovered it was SF who beat up his girlfriend, CS two weeks before he killed her parents. It seems as though CS was involved in a brutal, abusive relationship with SF. Once she was hospitalized with serious injuries after the last attack, she and her parents probably called an end to the relationship and kept him from seeing her. MOO

He retaliated by attacking, and killing, the parents.

Ford's bond has been set at $2 million.

He allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, almost killed her. He is accused of killing her mother and her father. And just to top it off, he was willing to stand by and let another man be arrested for the assault on his girlfriend.

Jury selection was completed Tuesday in the murder trial of Shawn Ford, Jr. The process began on September 24.

The Akron man is accused in the brutal slayings of Jeffrey and Margaret Schobert...

Ford could get the death penalty if convicted.

Chelsea Schobert cooperates with investigators in drug case

“When she got older,” Jessica Schobert said, “she would stay out to all hours. We didn’t really know where she was. She would come home at 3 in the morning.”

Her parents did all they could to help, she said, getting Chelsea Schobert into counseling and arranging for a tutor to help her academically. “And as far as keeping track of where she was,” Jessica Schobert said, “they had a GPS on her car.”
And who’s helping her now, Clum asked.

“No one. She’s 18. None of us really has any authority [over her], no one, as far as I know,” Jessica Schobert said.
In late March last year, in the days leading up to the slayings, Chelsea Schobert suffered a concussion after allegedly being attacked by Ford, her former boyfriend.

Authorities have said that Jeff and Margaret Schobert wanted to bring a complete end to that relationship, and that it might have been a factor in their deaths.

Jessica Schobert said they died “never really knowing an answer to who hurt her.”

Prosecutors say that while Chelsea Schobert was hospitalized, Ford and a juvenile broke in and killed her parents. Ford was angry that the Schoberts were trying to keep him from their daughter.

Ford and the juvenile took a sledgehammer from the family garage and attacked Jeffrey Schobert in his bed the morning of April 1, according to prosecutors. They then did the same to Peg Schobert when she arrived after spending the night at her daughter's bedside. Both were struck with the sledgehammer more than a dozen times each, prosecutors said.

A man who was convicted of beating his girlfriend's parents to death with a sledgehammer should be executed, a jury said Friday.

After hearing arguments from prosecutors and defense lawyers, the Summit County jury that convicted Shawn Ford Jr. of aggravated murder last week recommended he be given the death sentence for killing 59-year-old Margaret Schobert. The jury split its decision, recommending that Ford be given life in prison without parole for the slaying of 56-year-old Jeffrey Schobert.

Judge Tom Parker will have the final decision when he sentences the 20-year-old Ford later.
