BATAVIA — A key witness in the murder case against foster parents of 3-year-old Marcus Fiesel of Middletown has been sentenced to two years in prison for drug trafficking...

Judge William Walker said he took into account her link to Marcus’ death in August 2006 when he sentenced her to a two-year term...

Baker was the couple’s live-in girlfriend and said she was present when Liz and David bound the 3-year-old developmentally disabled boy and left him in a closet while they attended a family reunion in Kentucky.

Baker, who now goes by her maiden name of Amy Lynn Ramsey, plead guilty to the charges last month...

Baker told authorities that she accompanied David Carroll when he burned Fiesel's body and dumped the remains in the Ohio River.

Those records indicate the pills involved were the anxiety reliever clonazepam and the pain relievers oxycodone and hydrocodone...

Her attorney also told the judge she's been applying for numerous jobs but hasn't able to maintain employment because of the Fiesel case...

Baker is concerned about her safety after she arrives at the same prison as Liz Carroll.

Ten years later, his name and photo – the smiling face of a 3-year-old angel – still pull at our hearts.

That's because Marcus Fiesel became every person's child or brother in August of 2006. Hundreds of us searched for him when we believed he was lost. The whole community wept for him when we found out he had died, and everybody was horrified — disgusted, dumbfounded — when we learned the gruesome details.

Today Marcus is the poster boy for a foster care situation gone tragically wrong. On that Aug. 15 day of 2006, however, he quickly became everybody’s child.

David Carroll will be eligible for another parole hearing in just less than 10 years.
