The Lane County Sheriff’s Office’s Search and Rescue unit is assisting the Eugene Police Department in the search for Bjorkman with a particular focus in the Veneta area, according to Lisa Shockley-Fors, Bjorkman’s sister. Friends of Bjorkman are also searching areas on foot and with drones that he’d been known to frequent but so far have been unsuccessful, she said. Shockley-Fors said that Bjorkman has ridden his bike home from Eugene to Veneta before after missing the bus and he’s also been known to ride his bike on area trails in the Veneta area. She and her sister flew in from Wisconsin on February 6 and decided to offer up a cash reward to try and entice more help in finding their missing brother.

“We actually booked a flight to go home tomorrow,” Shockley-Fors said, “and I was in the shower and I’m like, you know what, no, we’re going to do a reward. Because I can’t leave here knowing that my brother could be in a, you know, in a ditch somewhere, or, you know, I don’t know at this point. Now…at this point, we’re suspecting foul play. Because my brother is the most loving person and (has) no enemies… any friend or person that has ever come in contact with him will tell you that.”

His family says police told them there is no evidence that he took a bus home.

"We had a stack of flyers, and we walked up and down the waterways, posting flyers and looking in waterways for any type of evidence," said Wozniak. "So up and down Amazon Creek, all the way through/off Highway 126, along Fernridge reservoir, along the back roads there because it's a possibility that he could have attempted to ride his bike from Eugene to Veneta."

They don't believe anyone had ill intent towards Bjorkman.
