I just added this number to my signature.

Great job Lilibet! Thank you. I just added the Crime Stoppers tel # and reward info to all my posts, including the Reddit ones. This is really great!

Is there a Crime Stoppers (Oregon) page/info on Stephanie Warner's case with a reward and the option for calling in anonymously?

Crime Stoppers Oregon Facebook Page:
https://www.facebook.com/crimestoppersor

Their facebook page states, "Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information, reported to Crime Stoppers, that leads to an arrest in featured cases, or any unsolved felony, and tipsters can remain anonymous."
https://www.facebook.com/crimestoppersor/info/?tab=page_info

I am starting to wonder if Crime Stoppers should be mentioned on any post about Stephanie Warner... what do you think? Maybe someone out there is not comfortable speaking to JCSO but may speak to Crime Stoppers anonymously...?

I thought there was a crime stoppers award a long time ago, but I could be mistaken. I'd have to go look back on the 1st thread to see if I can find it. I'll also check with OUOTP, she may know.

:seeya: That would be great if you'd check Sad Eyes! Thank you. I just didn't have time to go back that far. I think it was Zwiebel who mentioned it on the second thread, but she posted the Oregon Crimestoppers link instead of the Southern Oregon one. You're right that OUOTP might know. I also emailed LE to ask if they could post it, so maybe between all of us we'll get some action.

April 4, 2016--Stephanie has been missing for 2 long years and 9 long months today. :rose:

I wish I had some news. I always Google Stephanie, Lennie Ames and his son before posting...in hopes there will be something to report. The only thing I could come up with is that I think Ames is living near Houston, TX. I had reason to believe that sonny boy had moved there several months ago and I figured pops wasn't far away. Today a location I'd never seen for Ames popped up in a nearby town. That doesn't mean that anyone is still there, so who knows? I'm too cheap to pay for more information!

I'm confident that when the time comes for the arrest(s), LE will know where to go. Here's hoping its soon!

A story on local news this week tells about a high tech device for detecting fingerprints on a variety of surfaces that was given to JCSO recently. It's called a Vacuum Metal Deposition Unit. Whether it has an application in Stephanie's case remains to be seen, but it's quite fascinating. It can even detect fingerprints on items that have been underwater for a long time, as well as on fabrics.

Here is a video about how a VMD device manufactured in the UK works, so you can get a more detailed idea of its value to JCSO.

And finally, a shout out to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Forensics Laboratory in Ashland that donated the device to JCSO. This is the only lab of its kind in the world dedicated to crimes against animals!

Well, as Columbo would say, "One more thing"...the director of the Forensics Lab is also an author of crime novels. I haven't read any because they are described as gory and violent by the author Ken Goddard, but they might interest someone here. :)

This is so sad. I wish they would just arrest him and try him on all the circumstantial evidence they have. It's a 50-50 chance that he would be found guilty but at least it would give her friends and family some kind of closure. Maybe this animal might confess on his death bed, if not he surely will never get through the pearly gates.

Milepost 43 on 227 would be at approximately Swingle Rd, which is about 9 miles from Shady Cove as the article mentioned. This branches off onto BLM roads according to the link below.

I suppose Ames could have travelled there and back in the time the car was used in the middle of the night. Given his intimate knowledge of the mountains around Ruch, I'm not sure why he'd go that far, but it's certainly possible. Distancing Stephanie from the local area would make sense. I wonder if he had ever mined in that area.

Thank you OUPTP for the update.

Feel a sense a dread with this news. We've been prepared by LE that Stephanie is likely not alive, but still... the reality is daunting. Whether or not this is Stephanie, sending prayers to all families.

Hi Lilibet I tried to send you a private Msg but it is not showing me that it went hrough. Please let me know if you received it. I can't find it in my sent messages. I think you know who had a mining claim in the Sandy Cove area.

I know the feeling of dread! But LE seems to want a body before they prosecute so may this is a blessing in disguise. I want that ANIMAL prosecuted!

There is some discussion on Stephanie's FB page about Shady Cove. I don't recall that there were searches there that were made known publicly. Someone who knew Ames mentions a friend of his who lives there. I've never heard of him, but this commenter would know. Anything is possible. I just want Stephanie to be found! Her Mama needs her. :heartbeat:

OUOTP, thank you, that was kind of you to say.

You are all amazing for keeping the vigil for Stephanie and never letting her memory be forgotten.

Watching these developments closely. I will try later to look for references for "Shady Cove" in the old threads. Keep you posted if I find anything!

Hi OUOTP! :seeya: It's good to see you and thanks for having the sharp eyes to catch this story.

I just searched all four threads (including media thread) for Shady Cove and came up empty except for the posts since yesterday. I've been here since almost the beginning and I don't ever recall Shady Cove as being in play. You must have heard from someone privately, but there was no public info that I have found about Ames, Stephanie and Shady Cove. I will keep looking though. I never heard about Ames' friend there until yesterday on FB. It's certainly possible he took her there in the time he had, but he knows the mountains around Ruch so well, it seems unlikely to me. It would be smart if he had, especially if the friend there has bunkers (FB rumor), but I'm going to curb my enthusiasm for now, while hoping this is the break needed.

Just touching base, I don't see any updates in the news...
