Found Deceased PA - Lindsey Piccone, 21, Tyler State Park, 6 Sept 2016

I wonder what the nature of the "threats" were.

I think they need to walk a fine line when it comes to this "cyber-bullying" phenomena. Who is it exactly that determines the definition of the term "bullying, " in contrast to the act of being critical, being argumentative, vehemently disagreeing, or whistelblowing ?

Technically, one could say they're cyber-bullyied here on Websleuths, whether it be by a moderator, another user, or someone who flags a post because they don't like it. If someone is put on timeout, is that considered cyberbullying ? When I'm in a forum and 5 people disagree with me and tell me I'm wrong, is that cyberbullying ? When I post something that I think is relevant, only to find it deleted later, is that cyber-bullying ? If I post a comment in some social media forum and it gets a bunch of thumbs-down, is that cyber bullying ?

I think that term is misused a lot lately, and I think the people making decisions about what is and what is not cyber-bullying need to give it a wide latitude. This is one of those catch phrases that can be over-applied and mistreated, not to mention unfairly targeted. This is starting to sound like a lot of that PC stuff that needs to be reined in a little.

Some people have very thin skin and are highly over-sensitve, and they can't bear to be argued with or told they're wrong. These are the same folks that proclaim to be "offended" by anything someone says that they don't agree with. Anyone who dares to disagree with them is considered a bully. It may have nothing to do with being a bully, and it may have everything to do with freedom of speech and opinion.

I seem to remember reading about this person intimidating or threatening Lindsey. In my mind it could have been an exchange where this person was threatening to expose details about Lindsey.

I've never seen an exchange on here that I would consider bullying. I haven't looked at the TOS, though. I'm not sure how mods qualify a post as bullying.

I feel like there's more to this then someone just being a jerk to Lindsey online....imo.

Bullying is a hot topic in my home right now with my oldest entering her 1st year of school.

This case keeps getting worse:

DA: Ex Kutztown Football Player In 'Sextortion' Case Likely Did Same To Woman Before Her Death

Pisarchuk is believed to have done the same to Lindsey Piccone, whose body was found in a state park on Nov. 1, 2016. Her death was later ruled a suicide.

Before her death, Piccone was harassed, threatened and extorted by an apparent stranger on SnapChat, whose account was linked to Kutztown University, the Weintraub said.

Detectives at the time found too many IP addresses to narrow down the investigation, and no real suspect.

"The investigation went cold and stale, but that remained open until yesterday, when they learned [Pisarchuk] attended Kutztown on a football scholarship from 2014 to 2018, while Piccone was harassed," Weintraub said.

But he wasn't a stranger, he was a classmate. They were in the same class at Bensalem:

Classmate Profiles (2014)

So, he went to college then decided to anonymously stalk, coerce, and threaten his HS classmate so badly she ended up killing herself. I hope he never sees the light of day again.

Note: another of the deceased classmates is Tom Meo, who was one of Cosmo DiNardo's victims. What a cursed class.

Thank you so much for posting the updates.

Absolutely awful. I am completely heartbroken for Lindsey and her loved ones. And if you look at his Facebook, they are still “friends” (her account was left active for investigative purposes, IMO):

Subject:
Lindsey's Law
In the near future, I intend to introduce legislation that will strengthen penalties on those who sexually extort their victims to such a degree that the extortion leads to serious bodily injury or death.

On November 1, 2016, Jeannett and Paul Piccone received the news that no parent hopes to hear. Their daughter, 21-year-old Lindsey Piccone was found dead from an apparent suicide. It wouldn’t be for nearly five years from that awful day that the Piccone’s had some understanding as to why their beautiful daughter took her own life.

Lindsey was the victim of ‘sextortion.’ That is, efforts by one man to demand sexually explicit photos and videos from unsuspecting victims. When this monster didn’t get what he wanted, he would bully and threaten the women, some, girls as young as 12, with violence, by revealing their photographs online, or sending the images to their friends and family. Lindsey was bullied and threatened to the point that shortly before taking her own life, she sent her predator sexual photos. This did not have to happen.

While Lindsey's sexual predator has been identified and is awaiting trial, penalties need to be strengthened to ensure these individuals stay off our streets and away from our children. My bill will add sentencing enhancements to our current law against sexual extortion to guarantee that predators whose despicable use of sexual extortion leads to a victim suffering serious bodily injury or death will be punished appropriately.

I hope you will join me in co-sponsoring “Lindsey’s Law”.

I am seeing this case for the first time. I know she died by suicide. Does anyone know the exact COD? Gunshot? Overdose? What?
