In defense of Kara Borden it has never been reported that she had anything to do with the death of her parents. Even Ludwig does not implicate Kara Borden in the murders of her parents. When you read the articles the police were not even sure if they should charge David Ludwig with kidnapping because Kara escaped the house with her older sister and David grabbed her as he was fleeing the scene-thus the possible kidnapping charges. I think they decided against charging him with kidnapping because there was enough concrete evidence against him to put him behind bars for the rest of his life and they did not feel Kara would be a good enough witness against him to help a kidnapping charge stick.
You're all talking about a fourteen year old girl here, somebody who thought she was in love with this older kid, who witnessed the murder of her parents at this guy's hands and was afraid, probably for her own life since she just saw her boyfriend totally snap and do the unthinkable.
I feel sorry for all parties involved. The Borden children lost their parents, there will always be a strain between the other Borden children and Kara regardless of her involvement. The Ludwig family lost their son who was by most accounts a pretty decent kid before this horrible event that changed everything. Hopefully he will be a model prisoner and Kara Borden will be able to get proper counselling as should her siblings.
