Included in Sandusky's autobiography are about twenty photos. In one photo are a smiling Sandusky and two other older men standing behind three pubescent boys. One of the men is identified as Dom Toscani. Sandusky also writes that one of Second Miles football camps in Philadelphia was "made possible by a man named Dom Toscani." A man named Dominic Toscani is listed on Second Mile's honorary board as the Owner & President, Paris Business Forms (This info has been deleted from the Second Mile website. Another note on the photos in the book. Of the dozen boys whose photos appear in the center pages, none are African-American. Most look to be white, about 8 - 12 years of age, slender build, with blonde to sandy blonde hair.

I saw this (link below) earlier today. Another orphan home. Not sure if it's the same person but I sure did learn a lot about the man who started the orphanage - or I should say, donated his fortune to building the orphanage. His name was Stephen Girard and he used the richest man in America. In today's dollars he would have been worth 50 billion.

I think I can relate. My husband just rolled over and said "when you start quoting from the book of Jerry Sandusky it's time to go to sleep" (I had just read him the line "nothing I ever do is mundane").

Sandusky being free has caused his neighbors to feel like they are the ones locked up in a jail.

“You would think the chain of command of people going into hiding might be the reverse of what we’re seeing,” Thompson said. “The person who’s been accused is Jerry Sandusky. The ground zero of this story is Jerry Sandusky, so that does seem very strange.”

And in a quiet neighborhood, where most of the residents are elderly and there are seldom antics, the last 16 days have been difficult.

Apparently Victim 1 has withdrawn from his high school due to bullying.

The victim's psychologist, Mike Gillum, told the paper that Central Mountain High School students were misplacing their anger at Joe Paterno's firing and blaming the 17-year-old, who left the school in the middle of his senior year after experiencing a rash of verbal taunting and name-calling.

This evil was not perpetuated by the current 92,000 students or the 500,000 alums of Penn State. Penn Staters are outraged by little boys being raped on campus.

You would find the last chapter of People of the Lie by Dr. Scott Peck informative. Please read about "group evil" and realize that Penn State alumni and entities affiliated with it are not the source of this evil. There are only a few known evil individuals in this discussion. There has been a HUGE amount of speculating and posting of rumors.

The unique atmosphere at Penn State is the same atmosphere that exists in other cohesive groups. There will be a few evil individuals at every campus, every church, every orphanage, every summer camp and etc... Sadly, there will be a few individuals that will not speak up to protect the innocent at each of these entities too.

The reason Sandusky was able to rape little boys for years was that so few individuals knew of his behavior and the few that knew were pathetically weak and immoral.

Whether it was few or many that knew is less important than WHY no action was taken by those who did know. All that was required was ONE with a moral compass and the strength to protect these children.

There is ample reason to believe that more than a few had, or should have had, knowledge as to this animal's behaviour.

The charity that Jerry Sandusky founded is under scrutiny for whether it acted swiftly or effectively enough after it was informed of allegations that the former Penn State assistant football coach had sexually abused boys the foundation was supposed to help.

According to the grand jury's presentment, in 2002, Penn State told Second Mile CEO, Jack Raykovitz about an incident in which a graduate assistant had seen Sandusky sodomizing a boy in a locker room there.

Four years prior, two detectives listened as Sandusky told the mother of another of his alleged victims that he had showered with young boys. Sandusky was never prosecuted. But the grand jury investigating him said the report was referred to Penn State's lawyer, Wendell Courtney, who also represented The Second Mile.

IMO, the board members of TSM knew or could have readily found out the truth.

"The bottom line is that if you even suspect somebody might be doing that, you do something."

Bob Poole is the chairman of The Second Mile board of directors. He's held that position for 17 years. He was chairman in 1998, when the TSM/PSU attorney, Wendell Courtney, learned about an investigation into alleged sexual misconduct by Sandusky. He was chairman in 2002 when Raykovitz was told by Penn State about the shower rape incident witnessed by McQueary. How is it reasonable to believe that the chairman of TSM's board of directors didn't know what this animal was doing to these children?

What possible reason could this man have for doing NOTHING to stop this animal?

Ahhh, but Poole's also the CEO of Poole Anderson Construction, isn't he? Remember, PSU paid Poole's company $12,154,402 in the last fiscal year (2010) and got even more money: $12,936,843 in 2009 for a total of $25,091,245, JUST DURING THOSE TWO YEARS! The Penn State/Poole revenue train goes back for over a DECADE!

A lot of people had a lot of incentive to do nothing whatsoever.

:cry: My heart just breaks for this victim.

I feared from the start that the media was giving Too Much Information about his case, such as the name of his high school, allowing for easy identification of this young man by his peers.

And sure enough.

I am sick over this.
