Hmmm...I thought that she had slipped him a chip also...she was definately looking around strangely...she didn't shake anyone elses hands either... and after she shook his hand she sat a chair away... seems odd to me...

She also was very comfortable there cuz she put her knee on the chair... and was switching positions between chairs..

I find it sickening that JVS will STILL try to use where NH remains are and anytime he needs something...He caused her death.. and using that as extortion and a bargaining chip in Peru makes me ill... literally...I don't think think NH will ever be found..I have a feeling she went into the sea/ocean due to under currents that JVS was looking up after Stephany died...I hope I'm wrong....

I agree, I dont think NH's remains will ever be found. In that case I really dont think NH's parents should put pressure on to negotiate with him for her remains and what really happened. Without any remains NH's parents will never know if JVDS was telling the truth, he's a liar. I understand her parents wanting her remains for some closure and to put a more proper end to her death. But unless they get actual physical remains of some kind I would just tell Peru and Aruba to do whatever will give JVDS the worst punishment.

He could possibly be charged with NH's death now even without the remains, its not just a coincidence this guy killed someone else 5 years later. It will be interesting.

I think it is now a no win situation for findind Natalee.. Enough of the dancing around the facts.. I will bet he has nothing to say to Aruba authorities... His thought was to be taken back to Aruba to give (false) information to get him out of Peru...I can't wait till his trail is over and he gets his real wake up call...!!! no sympathy here, he has been toying with NH families emotions over the last five years... and to boot...he even said Beth could wait another 5 years if he didn't get the money...again, can't wait till protective custody runs out..!!

I'm beginning to think there is no "Joran going out for coffee" video and he just picked up two empty cups that he had in his room. If that is so, what is with the report that Jean C. gave last week that there were two full containers of coffee found in his room and an earlier report that there was one container with coffee residue found. I think these reporters should be taken to task for inaccurate reporting which is nothing more than gossip and rumor. NG is the worst offender of all. If I were Peru, I wouldn't go too far out of my way to assist Aruba in their investigation. Aruba did nothing 5 years ago to get a dangerous predator off the streets (and those who assisted him). As for NH, she is dead and gone, at the bottom of the ocean, and will never be recovered. The sad fact is that Beth, Dave and Tim Miller need to close the book and stop the useless searching. This is all about Stephany and her murder in Peru and the criminal prosecution of her killer in Peru. Peru will see to it that he receives all that is coming to him.

Today Show

[ame="http://video.yahoo.com/watch/7666834/20379173"]Joran: News Report 6/17/10 7:30 AM EDT on Yahoo! Video[/ame]

I am curious to see what Jean C reports today to back-up the Today Show report from Peru.

My take on the video was that Stephany was simply looking around to see who was in the casino, maybe looking to see if anyone she knew was there. The shaking Joran's hand was just a simple greeting, nothing more. I think there might have also been poker table etiquette involved here. That she wasn't just going to plop herself down next to him and intrude on his game without being asked to join him. I didn't see anything odd here at all.

The Today Show video now claims that there are two other prisoners in the area that Joran is being housed. This was the initial story. The hit man and some political figure. Then it was widely reported that only Joran and the hit man shared that space. Now were back to Joran and 2 others. It's very sad that such a simple fact cannot be reported consistently and accurately. Joran seems to be doing okay in his new surroundings and has acclimated quickly.

You're not meant to see it, it's a sleight of hand move. I accept you don't see it though. You wont see the actual chip.

When the videos are watched in sequence you will see Stephany only greeted Joran at the table with a hand shake.

There is a video of Stephany pulling into the parking lot of the casino, parking her car, walking into the casino and as she walks into the casino her hands are open and pointing down. When she reaches Joran at the table, it is a simple "greeting of a hand shake".

Interesting that Joran is acclimating quickly. I remember during the Scott Peterson case that it was also reported he acclimated quickly upon reaching San Quintin & it was also reported that this is a trait common to sociopaths.

Michelle K, the NBC reporter in Peru for the Today show, also states that Anita will be arriving in Peru today. Wonder if that will really happen? There's just so much information flying around that it's hard to know what to believe.

If I were his mother, I would be to ashamed to show my face anywhere..and further be in fear of my life.... People look at her as if she knows something about NH case, and she surely does...There must of been some sort of commotion going on in that household that night... I really hope that she pleads with her son to be honest..to come clean...If that was my son, thats what I would be asking of him.. and alot of head shrinking too... JMO..:twocents:

mom was in the netherlands the night NH went missing............
dad did all commotion with JVS............leaving siblings at home

This ability to morph into whatever a situation requires is why I think Casey Anthony will be just fine and dandy in prison. I do not think it is in her skill set to be unhappy with her own actions or in any way hold herself accountable. I wonder if JVS (other than a spoiled brat tantrum) has that same mind set.

The poker-behind-bars story originally appeared in a Lima, Peru newspaper, then was reprinted in a paper in The Netherlands. According to NBC news, the source for the Peruvian version of the story was a jailhouse informant. The director of prisons has denied to NBC News that van der Sloot is playing poker in the pokey, saying he has no contact with anyone behind bars. Apparently the Columbian drug lord lives in the prison cell next door to Van der Sloot, and they have chatted, but they don't have access to each other to play poker.

Anita was in Holland the night of Natalee's disappearance.

I know that Joran had been estranged from his parents for a while now. Maybe they saw the light after all his televised "confessions"? Remember, he threw his dad under the bus during Greta's interview and sold Greta what he said were taped conversations between him and Paulus. That can't have gone over well at the VDS house.

Isn't that special that Joran has a buddy? According to the Today report, he moves his mattress into the Columbia hitman's cell during the day and they watch TV, play cards and swap stories. They even have nicknames for each other: "Psychopath" and "Hitman." He is also apparently eating well and showers daily.

On Friday, ABC’s ‘20/20’ will air an exclusive interview with a woman who claims she was a longtime confidant and first love of Joran van der Sloot, whom she says she dated for seven months.

Anchor Chris Cuomo spoke to the “mystery woman” who claims van der Sloot, 22, contacted her only days before he allegedly killed Peruvian woman Stephany Flores, 21.

The show promises to answer questions concerning what van der Sloot did, and why his alleged ex-girlfriend is now coming forward.

Additionally, ‘20/20’ will also reveal the “never-before-seen diary, which includes love letters, poems, souvenirs and exclusive photographs” the woman kept while she was allegedly dating van der Sloot, according to ABC.

I wonder if he has been able to wash the clothes that he was wearing when captured. Are they provided with soap, toilet paper, toothbrushes and toothpaste? Are they able to shave? Do all of the above have to come out of private funds. I expect that his new bbf will be sharing his motherload with Joran. I'm anxious to see if Anita really will be arriving today. That was reported last week and she never showed up.

I agree, I dont think anything shady was going on at all. And this looks like a simple robbery to me, the dumbest motive of all to take someones life. Im surprised if Joran is doing as well as they say. He's used to traveling the world freely, he may be addicted to gambling, may be an alcoholic, and may be a drug addict, and he's 22 years old. I figured he would have shed more than a few tears in his cell by now.
