My guess is she was already feeling the effects of being drugged, but just not enough to be totally wiped out.
 
I wanted to bring this link over from #2. It's the pic of his pants falling down at the border. Really zoom in on this....his hands are absolutely filthy, he is spaced out-- is an understatement, and I'm sorry, but it look like he has peed his pants. Anyone else see this? I zoomed to 400 and then did a few control +'s.

where are u seeing that? isn't that the hotel clerk behind a counter and joran at the desk, with stephany behind him.

well, I might if I just smashed someone's head in and stole 5000.00 dollars from them. I might be too flustered and forget my cigs. He managed to tell the hotel not to enter that room for a few days and then got the heck out of Peru. I bet he used profaine words when he realized he'd forgotten the cigarettes. I guess we could trace his hasty retreat by finding out where he bought those cigarettes and I bet it wasn't too far from the hotel

I am so sorry for Stephany's death, God bless her and her family, but I am so happy Joren has finally been caught in the evil he does. Joren reportedly smoked non stop in his taxi ride out of Chile. I guess he was having jitters.

anyway, jmo, and Dairygirl, not picking on you, I like your posts but couldn't resist since I'm a smoker and I do forget those cancer sticks sometimes.

I just read through comments about Joran at this paper ...

(and let me say that no wonder the machine translation often is inaccurate...these comments were full of slang that simply will not translate that way)

They are about what you would expect. Lots of anger, with a number of comments speculating about Joran's fate in prison (these comments have a thumbs up or down, and while many people gave these thumbs up, just as many did not like them ).

Some anger that such swift justice is not found in other crimes...
Some praising Chile's police....

Disturbing to me is a number of (male) posters blaming Stephany for going with Joran....without knowing what really happened. Machismo at work there...which is certainly cultural , but I know and hate that mindset.

In general, though...they sound a lot like us here.

(My Spanish was learned in Mexico, so some of the Peruvian slang was a little opaque to me...but usually pretty clear from the context)
 
Greta on right now if anyone missed it. the 20/20 brought no enlightenment.

I think it may be a tall metal cigarette ashtray to extinguish cigarettes. Or is it simply a waste container? What do you think?
 
Stephany was found in a jacket and dress. This shot entering past the reception desk, she does not have a jacket on, and blowing it up I only see a purse in her hand.

I thought about the baseball bat if thats really involved, a store clerk or hotel clerk might keep one behind the counter for protection.

A tennis racket will make a lot more sense since he would probably have one in his room.

Nope, that is Joran checking into his hotel on the wee hours of Sunday. First he asks for his keys, then checks if there is a message for him, while Stephany is standing right behind a door (red circle). Last image of surveillance camera shows her walking behind him.
Three days later, the hotel clerk tries to no avail to transfer a phone call to Joran's room. Nobody answered. Forty minutes later, the hotel clerk noticed that Joran was owing 2 days stay, that's when she went up to his room, knocked on his door and heard the TV was "on".
It has also been found that Stephany won $5,ooo from a foreigner (Not sure, but apparently is the guy shown on last segment of video. I read somewhere that he was from Uruguay).

The string has been removed from his sweatshirt with the hood. Probably, his belt had been taken as well.

Ohhhhh... I get it! Stephany is behind whatever the heck it is. I swear, I watched it 50 times before the light bulb went off. Derrrr. :D
