Hi Carolwood, great job. Yes, I think that one photo of J. K. Powell bears some features in common with Benjaman. I've seen other pictures of Wayne Powell, and I think there's something about him that also reminds me slightly of Benjaman.
There's a Kite-Powell, first name Hauke, too. Might be this Jeffery's son? Looks something like him. IIRC I found that BK had a 12 marker match with someone with the last name Hauke or some other spelling of that name. I wonder if Hauke Kite-Powell's family didn't give him an older surname in their family as a first name?
I was googling on these Kite-Powells late last night, and fell asleep in front of my computer. Rodney Kite-Powell is the curator of the Tampa Bay History Museum, and he looks to have done some genealogy work as part of his job. He could be a person who might be very willing to help in identifying Benjaman.
Your Jeffery Kite-Powell has the very same strong indentation near the base of his left nostril that Ben has. I'm thinking that Bk looks most like southern east coast Powells. I still recall that young Powell college guy I found, and I still think he also bears some features in common with Ben.
I enlarged the photo of the Powell from Austin, and I didn't see anything about his face that struck me as looking like Benjamin.
I think when contacting these Powells, the person calling should ask,who in their family is the family genealogist, and get the info to contact that person as well. If possible, get that info early in the conversation in case the Powell person at the other end isn't interested in helping much so then we're not left with a dead end.
