I was upset when the jury did not come back Monday, but in retrospect I am really glad, because I now feel Nurmi would have use a quick verdict to say the jury must have been listening to T.V., reading papers, etc. my opinion only

Wow, I go away for an afternoon, and my fav sidebar thread blows up! Never seen so many posters here!

I just wanna thank Vivian from way back pages ago for the "Creep" parody. I quite enjoyed it!

Hi Chester! I forgot to tell you that we also liked Jordis on Rock Star/INXS. Did you see her when she was on The Voice? I felt sorry for her, she kind of self-destructed.

Here she is:

We listen to this one a lot:

Trees - Marty Casey & Lovehammers - YouTube

Thank you Vivian! I loved his Trees song. I would love to see him live.

I did not know Jordis was on The Voice, I haven't watched that. What do you mean by self-destructed?

Not that I am terribly surprised to hear something like that. She seemed quite fragile emotionally on "Rock Star" and not really cut out for competitive reality TV.

But I loved her voice.

Anyone else going to check out Dateline tonight? I will give it a shot . Now to completely change the subject, this song makes me think of CKJA.

"Witchy Woman"

Raven hair and ruby lips
sparks fly from her finger tips
Echoed voices in the night
she's a restless spirit on an endless flight
wooo hooo witchy woman, see how
high she flies
woo hoo witchy woman she got
the moon in her eye
She held me spellbound in the night
dancing shadows and firelight
crazy laughter in another
room and she drove herself to madness
with a silver spoon
woo hoo witchy woman see how high she flies
woo hoo witchy woman she got the moon in her eye
Well I know you want a lover,
let me tell your brother, she's been sleeping
in the Devil's bed.
And there's some rumors going round
someone's underground
she can rock you in the nighttime
'til your skin turns red
woo hoo witchy woman
see how high she flies
woo hoo witchy woman
she got the moon in her eye

Yes, I'd love to see Marty in concert, too - Mr. Mertz and I thought he should have won, but maybe he's better off doing his own thing.

And you are right about Jordis - she started off well on The Voice and then seemed to lose her confidence almost immediately. "Fragile emotionally" is so well said - she was breaking down, weepy, etc., but even through all that you could see her talent. Here's her Blind Audition:

I watched the first 3 seasons of The Voice and really liked it; haven't caught it this year because of the trial! Even watched the British version on You Tube and loved this Battle Round:

Bill Downs Vs Max Milner: 'Beggin'' - The Voice UK - Battles 1 - BBC One - YouTube

You should check the show out - the US version has many of the same musicians as Rock Star/INXS.

Thanks for the reminder about Dateline - we'll definitely be tuning in.

That's a great song you quoted, hope it's okay to still put the videos up:

Good evening, honorable sidebar peeps. May I approach the bar?

I wanted to share that I am taking a road trip to AZ this weekend and I rented a car for it, and they gave me, yeah, a white Ford Focus. I'm going to try to de-curse its tarnished name.

I will not be coloring my hair even though my gray is showing, and I will do my best to avoid the skateboarder hoards. Wish me luck.

Since I'm the only one in the room here, I guess I can confess one of my most shameful secrets...

The other morning Mr. Mertz and I were watching HLN and David Otunga was one of the TH's discussing the case. We like him because he's smart, cute and can do a mean body slam. Anyway, Mr. M says "I like this guy - where have I seen him before?" and I had to remind him (here's my big mortification) that Otunga was "Punk" on "I Love New York" - a show I LOVED and forced him to watch!

Vivian, true confession, I also watched "I Love New York".

Did not know David Otungua was a contestant!
