It's been six months and one day since a Signal Mountain mother has been seen. The frustrations are only growing for those searching for Gail Palmgren, as the clues to her disappearance seem to be dwindling.
Now, we're learning new information about Palmgren's friends and family members, and recent police reports concerning both...

much more at link.

(WRCB) - Deputies say they may have found the first major clue in the disappearance of Gail Palmgren.
Law enforcement have taped off an area near East Brow at Hampton.
The Hamilton County Sheriff's office says they have discovered a wrecked vehicle in the area.
The vehicle, according to the Sheriff's Office, is similar to the one reported to have been driven by Gail Palmgren when she disappeared.
The Sheriff's Office, along with other local and state personnel, will coordinate to make their way down to the vehicle, which is in very heavy undergrowth.
A large number of law enforcement agents have converged on a location in Signal Mountain.

would this be considerd north base of the mountin where the original last ping was reported?

Thank you for opening the thread!

I am glued here for details.

Wow. I let out an audible gasp when I read this! Prayers for Gail's family.

If she is in the vehicle and this was truly an accident...oh my. I would apologize for my bad thoughts about her husband...:(

I think so ~ it's north of Signal Mt anyway.

An air search conducted this morning by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and Tennessee Highway Patrol resulted in the discovery of a wrecked vehicle located between the East Brow on Signal Mountain and the W Road. This vehicle is possibly the Jeep Rubicon that Gail Palmgren, who disappeared in April, was last seen driving.

Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office along with other local and state personnel will coordinate to make their way down to the vehicle, which is in very heavy undergrowth.

I knew once the leaves totally fell off - which only happened a few weeks ago - that they might find the jeep. What I'm hoping is that they find some evidence in her Jeep about what was going on with her. There's really nothing else left to search and at least they might get her text messages (if her phone was still there), receipts, and hopefully other things.

Strong work from LE. It's times like these, IMO, that we have to be mindful that LE does often work behind the scenes much longer than we realize.

Helicopters are flying over the scene. The Sheriff's Office say they will have deputies repel from the helicopters to the Jeep.

A large number of law enforcement agents have converged on a location in Signal Mountain.

The discovery comes just hours after Hamilton County deputies began an aerial search around Signal Mountain, "following leads" related to the Gail Palmgren disappearance.

I guess the leaves falling did provide some openings.I will be very interested to see what is found once they reach the vehicle and if they will be able to determine if the vehicle was in an accident of its own accord...OR FORCED off the roadway OR 'placed' where it is

I wonder if someone would have better luck with a Mapquest of Signal Mountain, Chattanooga, TN.....and then mouse over to the right. The two roads mentioned are there and show how difficult it might be to drive the area with the switchbacks....although we have no idea yet just what part of
the road is being searched and where exactly the vehicle was found. Thank you if you can give us a link.
