Details of Disappearance

Pamela was last seen at approximately 4:15 a.m. on October 27, 2005, leaving her residence with her husband, Paul Anthony Knight, in the vicinity of the 4400 block of Bruhin Road in Knoxville, Tennessee. Her oldest son saw her leave and said she didn't appear to be distressed. She normally would not leave the house until 6:30 a.m., when it was time for her to go to work. At 7:30 a.m., Paul returned to the house without Pamela and took her three sons to school. He said Pamela was at work and she would pick the children up from school later that day. He was driving her green 1994 Jeep Cherokee with the Tennessee license plate number HSF 713. He said Pamela would pick them up from school later that day.

Although Pamela never clocked in at the Hillcrest nursing home where she worked, some people believe they saw her there that day. She was supposed to have lunch with her mother at 11:00 a.m., but never showed up. She never picked her sons up from school and has never been heard from again. Her Jeep was located abandoned on a beach in Guana River State Park in St. Augustine, Florida on December 29, 2005.

A photograph of Paul is posted below this case summary. He disappeared right after Pamela did and didn't resurface for nearly a year. He is a convicted felon and, at the time of Pamela's disappearance, was wanted in Georgia for aggravated assault. In August 2006, Paul was arrested in South Carolina after he got in a high-speed chase driving a stolen van with two children and his girlfriend inside. After he crashed the vehicle, police found numerous stolen items, including credit cards from various states, inside it. Paul gave five different names to the police until fingerprints confirmed his identity. He was later sentenced to sixteen years in prison.

Paul is considered a person of interest in Pamela's disappearance. Her family stated she married him only a few weeks after she met him and that he periodically dropped out of sight for weeks at a time. A few days before Pamela's disappearance, Paul showed her children a 9-mm handgun he had and told them not to tell their mother about it. Pamela's family admitted they never saw any signs that he was violent or abusive towards her.

Pamela's family stated it would be uncharacteristic of her to abandon her family. Her three sons are now separated from one another and living with relatives. The day she disappeared was her youngest son's seventh birthday, and they were planning a celebration for that afternoon at a Chuck E. Cheese restaurant. Pamela's disappearance remains unsolved.
