The girl mentioned in the reproduced Facebook messages on the blog link below (30 May) is the one who reported this to police. Unfortunately she is pregnant with another child of JT's.

I realize this is so much worse than dollars and cents but who the heck do these guys think they are? Tax payers will pay for his defense, his lifetime incarceration and the raising of all of his kids, almost certainly. Not trying to throw any of the moms under the bus as if they cannot raise the kids alone, but it is a struggle without help . I'd like to see total tallies for this guy and the others like him of what his ' badA$$ life of crime' cost the american tax payer........ through LE working hard hours to find him for months and months at the tax payers expense to the kids he's fertilized but the state is paying to keep fed and clothed, to his defense lawyer, to his years in prison..... You're man enough to father kids , big guy ? Be man enough to refuse tax funded attorneys then. I didn't think so. Grrrrrrrrrrr

Wow, I am stunned! I knew he killed her. It all fit into place but it still so cold, callous and so sad. He didn't kill her with the first shot and so he shots her again?! What a cold-hearted :stormingmad:! Did it ever occur to him that she was carrying his child so that he was killing this child too as well as this the mother of his child?! Wow, he is a sociopath. Poor Candice . Her last few minutes on earth were so terrible. RIP sweetie. I am glad his new girlfriend called the police and blew this case wide open.

Testimony suggests a murder defendant planned the killing of a Texoma woman for about a month before she disappeared. Jeremy Thornburg is charged with murder in the December 2011 disappearance of his ex-girlfriend Candice Shields, who Thornburg says was three months pregnant with his baby...

Lajuana Long, who has a child by Thornburg, is also charged with the murder of Shields. Her trial is scheduled to start next month, but she testified against Thornburg today and said prosecutors offered her a plea deal of 30 years in prison in exchange for her testimony.

According to questioning, District Attorney Dee Peavey originally told Long she'd give her a sentencing deal if she gave prosecutors the location of Shields's body, but Long says she doesn't know where that is.

After almost three years of uncertainty, ongoing local discussion and mass public speculation as to what actually happened to Graham woman Candice Shields, Jeremy Thornburg was convicted of murdering Shields and sentenced to life in prison by a Young County jury Tuesday afternoon. Thornburg will be eligible for parole in 30 years.

Thornburg’s older brother Timothy, also testified that Thornburg confessed to him that he murdered Shields. Timothy said that several months before Thornburg was arrested in February, he confessed on the front porch of the home where Timothy was staying in Abilene that he took Shields to a remote location where the brothers used to build forts when they were younger -- a story that Timothy said Thornburg made up. “That place is fictional,” Timothy said. “But he said he drove her out there.
