Mostly bones, 1 month to 1 year

Disregard my above. Nothing fresh about 1 month in tx heat. Weird how they were able to determine muscular stature.

Direct quote from article:

Ellis County Sheriff’s Sergeant Joe Fitzgerald said a team from the UNT Center for Human Identification determined they belonged to an African-American female, 16 to 22 years old, between five-six and six feet tall, medium frame with a muscular build. The anthropologists said the remains could have been there anywhere from a month to a year.

“It was not a whole lot of remains left, just bones,” said Fitzgerald, of the remains found by hunters.

"The Sam Houston State Bearkats represent Sam Houston State University in intercollegiate athletics. Sam Houston State's colors are orange and white and their mascot is the Bearkats.

Good Sleuthing Margarita, BUT, LE have already stated it's from Pilot Point High School. Here's a clearer picture of the sponsor ads from the back of the Tee:

Another good article with more information:

Fitzgerald says the shirts were handed out during the 2016-17 school year.
"Folks sitting in the stands during baseball games, basketball games, football games and we know that approximately 1000 were made," Fitzgerald said.
As far as missing people in that part of the state, the UNT Center for Human Identification says none are a match for the remains found approximately 100 miles away in Ellis County.
Detectives estimate the remains were there between two weeks and six months before their discovery.

Good point with Lancaster (I'm not familiar with the area). Speaking of Lancaster, as Gardener1850 alluded to, Lekeyia King went missing from Lancaster.

I am not very familiar with it, but it is a semi rural area that is being swallowed by the metroplex.

In regards to the other victim, Lancaster could well attract a disproportionate number of "bad news" type people from Dallas because it is far enough away for somebody to lay low, maybe get a new probation officer etc, yet the Dallas street scene is only a short car drive away.

Likewise, if the bad news person in question is black, Lancaster's historically black population will allow that person to blend in and probably feel more comfortable.

A muscular build? Perhaps the victim was an athlete and got the T-shirt through trade with a friend on the Pilot Point team? I wonder what schools play Pilot Point. Lancaster would probably not be one of them as it is too far south.

As for identifying a muscular build by skeletal remains, I think it is done by looking at the marks tendon make where they attach to bones. Perhaps the more pronounced the tendon mark is, the more muscular the person?

I live in Pilot Point and it is a small town. Everybody knows everybody and we haven't heard of any young teen/woman that's missing that fits that description. I'm thinking she wasn't from here. Maybe a friend or family member gave her the shirt or she got it at a good will.

[h=3]Remains found in Texas identified as missing Lawton woman[/h]
Tia Marie Spearman, 21, is originally from Lawton but just moved to Texas. The remains and Spearman’s dental records were sent to University of North Texas Center for Human Identification and were determined to be a match.

Investigators have arrested Guy Wayne Lynch, Spearman’s boyfriend. Police believe he killed Spearman and dumped her body in a remote area of Ellis County.

RIP Tia :rose:

This story has more luck than usual, an identification and an arrest made. R.I.P. Tia, may justice be swift for your killer.
