I took a quick look, and there are a couple of things that show up on Google searches which indicate some legal stuff in the past year.
But there has to be something else missing like you say, possibly a message sent to a family member?
Why would there be concern if she was just picking him up for a doctors appointment?

Yes, 'something must be missing' is right...WTH?

'Mom leaves work to pick up her 3 yr old at noon for a doctor's appt'....that all sounds very normal and wholesome...

So how did we get to ' "Officials believe Kaiden is in grave or immediate danger." Mom may be in possession of a firearm, the car was found abandoned and empty..."

WHAT IS GOING ON?????

What a weirdly presented story. Did he actually have a doctor's appointment?
Maybe that is what we were missing----maybe she made up the doctor's appt. as a way to get him out of daycare, even though she was not supposed to have him that day?

Maybe she told her ex that she was very angry about the custody battle and would get back at him because of it?

I think you might be right. The divorce filing is recent. Like this month recent.

This appears to be the park where her car was located if I'm not mistaken. IMO

There also seems to be a legal matter via work, where she was called as a defendant. Just before the divorce, I speculate it may have been used to gain leverage for her to be non-custdodial parent?
JMO
Well this isn't going to help her with that matter. Where does she expect to go without her car? I pray she doesn't hurt her son!

I haven't gotten that far yet. Would the legal matter be enough to warrant the cause of the divorce in your opinion?

I wondered that, too. She was obviously allowed to pick him up and transport him, so why the danger? That's a pretty nice vehicle to abandon, so why not consider that someone took both of them? JMOO

If you search her name on the Bexar County civil records, you can see she filed for a divorce, and applied for a Temporary Restraining Order against her husband, which hasn't been granted yet. Hearing for that is March 21.
Well that change things a lot! Someone need to locate him ASAP.

A few things may be falling into place.

A recent divorce filing.
A temporary restraining order.
May have a gun (for protection?)
Abandoned vehicle.

I’m wondering if Domestic Violence was the reason for the divorce. Mom grabs her child, abandons vehicle to suggest something nefarious has occurred and goes into hiding.

Just thinking out loud.

Good ideas. And, if she did that -- she likely had help.
