Found Deceased TX - Katherina Gonzalez, 5, Dallas, 31 August 2014 *Arrest*

Heartbreaking to see another young, innocent life cut short ... :( Rest in peace sweet girl .. Praying for swift justice!! And prayers for her loved ones ..

It doesn't sound good, but I can see the possibility of it being an accident. Girl wanders off, heads to a place she's familiar with, gets into the wrong apartment, pulls something down on top of her, or gets stuck in or under something.

If they hadn't emphasized the abandoned units I'd have tried to convince myself there was a shot the ending would at least not be murder.

Not that her being dead would be any less tragic, but if it weren't at the hands of someone else it seems like at least it wouldn't have been likely incredibly compounded pain that she likely suffered.

:(

So tired of all these senseless killings!

So these vacant units are just left open, or does someone need a key? If LE and neighbors were searching in them, did the ones who gave permission to search, also give keys?

Ah heck, sorry Travelingbug, I just woke up and didn't see you posted this already! My eyes are still fuzzy.

Coffee time!

one of the articles said maintenance workers let police in

Either it was left unlocked or it was someone that had a key?
Maintenance?
Painters?
Person that lived there before and still had a key?
Apt manager?
Landlord?

Hopefully one of those people LE talked to last night knows what happened.
This is becoming so common place, it gets little press. I'm on all the local dfw news fb pages
and did not see this story go by ONCE . I had no idea until this morning.

Link to apartments website-shows a pic of maintenance personnel (if it's current?)

Also-note they hold 'Neighborhood Watch' meetings. I find that rather ironic since there is a registered sex offender living there on premises. Check Texas DPS Sex Offender registry https://records.txdps.state.tx.us/SexOffender/Index.aspx and also Family Watchdog http://www.familywatchdog.us/search.asp

There is no shortage of sex pffenders with a history of aggravated sexual assault of a child in that zip code 75243 and nearby.
