**nothing new  Other than at the end Kerry Sanders says "$40K reward" I knew that the Dairy was only good for 6 months.

"I did think there was enough uniqueness there that someone would recognize that person on the video," Midlothian Asst. Chief Kevin Johnson said Tuesday. "It is surprising to me that that hasn't taken place yet."

"It's always hard to be criticized, especially when you have an investigation like this where you can't release information that might clarify your stance or the decisions that have been made," Johnson said. "I'm confident that once the books are opened on the investigation and once we have a suspect, that people will be very pleased with the efforts that we've made."

The public has certainly tried to do its part.

"We've got right around 1,400 tips that have come in," Johnson said.

In Texas tonight, a grim anniversary as the family of Missy Bevers marks one year since her mysterious death. She was a fitness instructor. She was found stabbed to death by students who were coming to meet her for an early morning class at a local church. Police say she was attacked by this unknown figure. And I say figure because this is all we can see, someone dressed head-to-toe in black tactical gear.

The surveillance video from inside the church shows him or her, we don`t know. Investigators have been unable to say for sure if that attacker is a man or a woman, very hard to tell. Video of a car that was caught on camera in a parking lot near the church was also released. So far, no leads we know of. Anyone who might know anything is asked to reach out to the police. There's the car, parking lot, you saw the figure. Very mysterious.

Johnson added that, during the process of investigating other crimes, investigators have learned some community members will have witnessed crucial information but choose not to report it to officers. He explained this comes after the person has deemed the information a “waste of time” or “not important.”

“It is our sincere belief that Missy’s killer will be caught through collaboration with the public. We believe that somebody who has not yet come forward may have that vital piece of information they have thus far withheld,” Johnson added. “We implore members of the public to please contact the Midlothian Police Department, regardless of how insignificant they may think their information may be.”

"If this takes another month, year, or decade we'll keep working on this case no matter what it takes," Johnson said, saying he can't imagine a situation other than 'Case Closed' that would take the investigator off the case.

Johnson wants you to know that even if you have something small, it could be the puzzle piece that points Police to the perp.

"You never know if your information, coupled with what we know, might be beneficial," he said. "I would tell people not to hesitate to call us if they have information to share."

New lead investigator in murder of Missy Bevers putting together a team of fresh eyes

Twenty-one months have passed since Terri “Missy” Bevers was murdered as she was setting up for a fitness class at the Creekside Church of Christ. Now leading the investigation is Midlothian Sgt. Andy Vaughn, who took over from the original investigator Cpl. Cody Moon who transferred back to the patrol division.

[...]

“I guess over the last few months I would say that we are averaging about 10 tips a week, easy. Those are the ones that are coming back to me. Email, phone calls, and crime stoppers (calls). You name it,” Vaughn said. “I still have some that we haven’t even got to yet. The tips are coming from out of state and some local. I had a gentleman from Australia call me and left a voicemail.”

Vaughn explained that the main body of tips that he receives from the public center on the suspect’s walk and the person’s physical stature captured on the church’s surveillance cameras. The tips that come to police are sorted, investigated, and tracked to its source to determine the credibility of the information.

[...]

“We are kind of putting a group of guys together, and we hope that we can get together within the next month,” Vaughn stated. “Primarily it will be myself and another couple officers that have been involved in the case. Just coming up with a plan for that. Trying to hand pick some folks to come in and start back from scratch.”
