Posting again here just in case anyone missed it from the last thread. Presser tomorrow:

Thank you, Firstsnow. I haven't been keeping up, because mainly, recently, it's been repeated questions and replying. I know that's normal. But usually when it gets to thread 10 or 11, people know the basics. Sorry to say that, but it gets frustriating when coming back to a case and there's a new thread with the same answers. It must get frustrating to others, too.

So this is a callout to those who are new with questions, and with love and peace, please read the intro (I was there, too) xxxxxx (Plus, the intro is really interesting.)

I was just gonna mention this, @todders had posted about it previously.

In the still cctv photos she wasn’t wearing gloves, that’s not to say she didn’t have them on her in a pocket. I’m sure PA will know whether they are NB’s or not. JMO.
Nicola’s quickly sorting out the car having just come from a presumably heated house. I wouldn’t wear gloves as I’m sorting out the dog going in the boot etc. It’s a very short space of time.

I also never drive whilst wearing gloves, as I feel my grip isn’t very good, but I have them in my pocket for other times.

Just saw this mentioned don't know if it has already, been posted.

How incredible for someone doing a TikTok live video at 1am to find a ‘stained glove’ 3 weeks after Nicola’s disappearance. Especially as so many people have been what can only be described as ghoulish sightseeing.

They’ve got amazing eyesight, even with my glasses on I wouldn’t have seen a dark glove, on dark ground, in the dark. Presumably this area was searched by the police? I thought lots of volunteers and search and rescue had also done multiple searches of this area?

It will be interesting to know if it is significant. It’s been out in the weather for three weeks. I don’t know how badly this could affect fingerprints etc, but the inside of the glove may be more informative.

Not just police!
Also mountain rescue and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service. Resources have included specialist search dogs, drone, police helicopter
And those searches were ongoing on Feb 3rd and set to continue

JMO Maybe NB had gloves in her pockets? I have two 'going out' coats. Mostly they have gloves, sometimes they don't. But the issue is that NONE of Nicola's clothes have been found. Is that normal with a (sorry to say) drowning? Would items of clothing be shed along the way? I have been occasionally watching this CCTV:

This case is terrible.
All cases are and I feel for her family so much.
We, here, are always trying to find some truth together, and we should all feel comfort in that. That's all we're trying to do x

I’m not an expert, but her clothes were close fitting and presumably done up, which I’d expect on a cold winter morning, so I can’t imagine how they’d come off. The sea could possibly be different, but the river isn’t that wild.

I can imagine her trying to get her boots off if she was in the water and trying to swim to safety and had she been wearing a hat or a scarf, they could have come off. Again there’s no hat in the CCTV and witnesses haven’t mentioned it, despite there being numerous photos of her wearing one. But unless she could stand up, I imagine it would be practically impossible to try to shed coats, or any other item of clothing.

I have lots of winter coats and there’s gloves in all of them!

JMO MOO

If you search the forum for 'Mercedes', you'll find quite a few earlier discussions of this, including debates about how feasible it would be.
Thanks. I saw that the article was dated today so thought maybe some new news in it.

Is there a link to theories on this (as we usually can’t post on the main thread)?

Unless she knocked herself unconscious, she could have just stood up. No way did she go in the river. IMO

Thanks so much for link to cameras on Morecambe.

I think the police always get a hard time. There is always hindsight. I guess you’d go with the obvious - and that’s the river right there where she was last seen.

Doesn’t look like the path can be driven on - so no vehicles go there.

I have a theory but just want to know where to speculate that as I think I’ll get snipped on here.

I’m confused about the phone call. They said she was connected; does that mean she was speaking with someone? Or had she called in to a teleconference and was just waiting? I haven’t seen that discussed so may have missed it. Seems weird to call in to a business meeting and not disconnect if leaving the area?

Yet another 'expert' who has not read the case..

Case updates are all here

and here

Thanks for this
Will watch the news conference.
SIO Detective Supt Rebecca Smith, apparently covers SOC (Serious Organised Crime) and child abuse.

Do the police still do those searches where they all stand in a big line and walk along really slowly literally combing the ground for evidence?

I can remember seeing that a lot in the past but not so much recently, not just in this case. Do they use other methods now? I suppose we haven’t been told of everything that the police have done though. I would have expected them to check the local area, including places she could have crawled into if Ill or injured…
