I was wondering the same thing about the trash, LOL! It sounds like he was away alot so I am thinking random dumpsters during his travels.

12:17 p.m. update: Dr. Anthony J. Garcia's relatives on Tuesday hired criminal defense attorneys Alison and Robert Motta, a husband-and-wife team based out of Chicago and Aurora, Ill.

Alison Motta said Garcia's family was "sure this is a mix-up.

I think this is possible, at least for the 2 murders at the Hunter residence. One of the first articles after his arrest, I think on the other thread, said the housekeeper had been vacuuming and apparently did not hear him come in, and the door was unlocked. With the noise of the vacuum, the little boy might not have heard him either. I'll try to find that again.

Waite's sister, housekeeper Shirlee Sherman, had been vacuuming in the Hunter house and didn't hear her killer come in the door, he said. Waite thinks she was taken by surprise, stabbed and was “dead before she hit the floor.”

Update, 5:50 p.m.: Anthony J. Garcia arrived in Omaha and was booked at the Douglas County Jail at 5:32 p.m. Thursday.

Not only was Dr. Roger Brumback stabbed, he was the sole victim who also was shot, multiple times.

Garcia is "olive-skinned," police noted in this week's affidavit. And police said Garcia had a silver Honda CRV registered to his Shreveport, La., apartment in 2008. That SUV is currently registered to Garcia's father in Walnut, Calif........

At 2:26 p.m., Garcia's credit card is charged $7.69 at the Wingstop restaurant at 71st and Pacific Streets.

At 5:18 p.m., cellphone records show, a call is placed to Garcia's cellphone as he's driving near Atlantic, Iowa, an hour east of Omaha.

At 6:58 p.m., Garcia checks into a Motel 6 in West Des Moines.

Two days later, on May 14, a mover arrives at the Brumbacks' home.

The door is ajar. A gun clip is near the threshold. And the couple are dead, dressed in the same clothes their daughter saw them in on Mother's Day.

Outstanding work by OPD and the task force! His fingerprints or DNA should be on those bullets.
 
I still find it quite interesting that Mrs. Brumback was stabbed & Dr. Brumback was shot. Perhaps Dr. had to watch his wife die first? It is heartbreaking and senseless.

That's how it sounds to me, collette. Especially since the police moved in on him after he checked out of the hotel. Chief Schmaderer stating that he is a serial killer who would not stop makes me wonder if he had a hit list of people who he felt 'wronged' him.
 
Info on Garcia's DUI arrest in March. His blood alcohol content was 0.211!

I'm drunk, I am an alcoholic," Garcia said, according to the report. "I drink all day and night and I have been driving around in my Ferrari drinking and just wanted to show you I had no weapons and that I was just being courteous."

The report said Garcia declined to take a field sobriety test, saying, "I told you I am an alcoholic."

Asked whether he was ill, Garcia said he suffered from many mental and physical illnesses.

It's strange that Garcia was upset that he had to show his drivers license even though he paid cash for the room. I say that because it seems he left a trail of credit card transactions to and from the Brumback murders.
