VA-24 teen girls missing in Alexandria, VA, 2006-2008

One thing I have noticed about recent runaway/missing kid cases, particularly in Virginia, is how the postings just disappear. This happens on both the NCMEC and Virginia State Police website, usually simultaneously but sometimes not.

My question is, in all of your experiences, does this only happen when a child has been located?

Or does the missing person information only stay on these websites for a certain length of time or until the child reaches a certain age?

Ive wondered are these missing or most likely runaways? If they are reported, wouldn't it be because someone thinks its odd they went missing? Why are the assumed runaways not listed with more info, like why it is believed they are missing and didn't runaway.
What is going on at this place? If these girls are all missing that is really scary. The center for missing and exploited kids is in Alexandria along with some other similiar, so what is going on?

I, too, lived in VA most of my life and never heard anything about this. I don't remember hearing of a single person missing from the state while I was living there. Hmm...
