ACCOMACK COUNTY, Va. — A missing Accomack County woman was last heard from more than a week ago.

According to the Accomack County Sheriff's Office, 25-year-old Alyssa Nicole Taylor doesn't have a car but said she was leaving the area in a tractor-trailer for a few days.

She was last heard from on Sept. 13.

Taylor is 5'5", 200 pounds, with green eyes and brown hair.

Anyone with information on Taylor's whereabouts is asked to call the sheriff's office at 757-787-1131.

I can't imagine telling my family or leaving a note that says I'm leaving for a few days in a tractor trailer.
Nor can I imagine any person I know that would word where they were going like that.
You'd probably say, "Road Trip." Or similar.

Found MSM that mentions the crash.

A local family is suspecting that Alyssa Taylor, 25, of Oak Hall, Va, may have been in a fatal crash on 14 Sept. 2022. Her last known contact was a text message to her mother on 13 Sept., when she told her that she would be traveling with Daniel Eugene McNeal, 51, of Exmore, Va, in a Mack tractor-trailer.

McNeal was killed in a crash 14 Sept. on southbound Interstate 85 in Hillsborough, North Carolina, when he veered off the highway and hit an overpass before crashing around 2:15 a.m., according to N.C. Highway Patrol spokesman Trooper Brian Martin. The truck was “engulfed in flames and a high volume of fire (was) impinging on the bridge,” fire officials said in the post.

Taylor’s family wants to know if she was also in the truck that claimed McNeal’s life.

It has been confirmed that Taylor was traveling with McNeal on 13 Sep through police body camera footage when he was cited for being illegally parked in Exmore, Va. Taylor’s cell phone signal was also last detected near the location of the crash at the time of the incident. Furthermore, some of her personal items were located at the site of the crash and identified by her mother.

Yes, that was my assumption from the get-go.
That's why I thought she might be re-locating and needed help moving her furnishings, etc. Or maybe they just took of for a lark. Hoping she's ok and not in danger.

I hate to think it but what if the crash was no accident, but a suicide on his part and the body of Alyssa is yet to be discovered.

In the message, Taylor said she was “riding with Danny in tractor trailer for two days.”

Text messages retrieved from McNeal’s Facebook account and posted on a friend’s Facebook page show Taylor contacted McNeal at 6:35 a.m. Sept. 13 to ask if she could join him on the run from Delaware to North Carolina. He agreed and told her he would be by that afternoon to pick her up. The N&O contacted the friend who posted the messages on her Facebook account, and she declined to comment.

People are saying the missed call from Taylor is proof that she was not in McNeal’s truck when he went to North Carolina, Lori Taylor said, but they haven’t heard from Taylor, whose phone is no longer in service, and her last post to Facebook was at 5:40 p.m. Sept. 13.

“He could have went into the grocery store or stopped into the truck stop, and she wanted him to get something,” she said. “A phone call does not mean — it literally says in the messages, I’m pulling down the road to get you now.”

But perhaps the biggest clue so far has been a singed, ash-encrusted pink blanket with teddy bears on it that Taylor’s family found Tuesday in the truck’s wreckage in Orange County. They stopped on their way home from Florida, Lori Taylor said.

“That’s the one thing my niece always traveled with was her pink blanket, and sure enough, that was the pink blanket that she saw there,” she said.

Taylor’s family returned to the wreckage Saturday morning with an Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputy and posted a video of the visit on Facebook. They found a dusty Old Navy flip-flop sandal under the wreckage that her mother Krista Taylor identified as her daughter’s size 8 shoe, the video shows. They wear the same size, she said.

iMO If they searched the area throughly and there was no trace of her other than the flip flop shoe and the pink blanket. It could be somewhere between exmore VA and Hillsborough Nc that they made a stop for food ,fuel and maybe to sleep and the truck driver left without her. That would explain the items they found at the crash site. The distance between both places is 452 miles.

Unless the tractor-trailer was a fuel tanker that exploded, the heat of post-crash fire and the time it would have taken to burn out would NOT have destroyed evidence of a second body. (the driver AND his dog's remains were found). investigators will walk a grid a fair distance from a crash of that nature to check for victims/survivors. IMO, if she had been in the accident, it would have been verified at this point.

Not necessarily. Crash victims have been missed before. Some of them have been found months or years later even though they were within yards of the crash site. This can occur because the victim lands in thick brush, in a ditch filled with muddy water, etc.
