I just read that they are currently testing Grateful Doe's DNA against Jason Callahan's family's DNA. Still waiting for results. It all seems to fit together. Hoping and praying for a resolution for Grateful Doe and Jason Callahan's family.

I have never seen it happen this way. Usually when the tests are complete they do the comparison but I dont know who holds GDF's DNA sample.

I spoke to the daughter of a missing woman; her DNA was processed in 15 weeks, now it's on to comparison of a KY Jane Doe. What I think may be happening is they made a new department to do comparisons to make things not take as long because UNT hold Jason & GDF's DNA. Thankfully Carl had it saved - see below

Really do not understand what's going on. My opinion has been that the ME has the comparison since Tammy's memorial service, June 10th. I don't know why it wasn't called on GDF's 20th anniversary June 26. Here we are now August 19th, still no word; both NamUs profiles are still online, yet Jason has not been added to GDF's rule out list. *Note, going to add this to a few threads...

Jason's NamUs Date entered 1/13/2015 - DNA processed 6/10/2015

You don't have to add the same thing in every thread

I bumped 2 threads for GDF because there are different people signed up to them. There are 3 threads people post to; Jason's and the 2 for GDF. I do a search of my email notifications to see which are the ones that get bumped. If it bothers people I won't do it again

I'm subscribed to all 3 and it doesn't bother me one bit. Keep doing your thing, Roselvr!

Yes I appreciate very much! So many people are waiting for the answers after spending years looking for a match and I don't want a single one to miss an update!

Beamie - have you been in touch with Jason's sister recently? Do the family have any idea why the DNA is taking soooooo long?

Yes, I've talked to her, and she's just as frustrated as we are. She has no idea why it's taking so long. I'll ask if she's called them lately

Thank you, please keep us posted.

It's frustrating for us but it must be excruciating for the family, and actually I think it's grossly unjust to take this long, I just don't understand....

Me neither. They have everything they need to do this.

I think I mentioned on another thread a case have in the UK. Possible blood match was found for a missing person - samples were collected to compare, results were back within 3 or 4 days. They were negative although they identified whose DNA it actually was, but nevertheless, it shows there isn't a physical reason for long delays. I guess there are backlogs but given the sensitive nature of DNA testing you'd think they'd get more people on it. Madness!

Does she speak to Jason's mom? Has she contacted Pamela Reed to see if more DNA was needed? I had tagged Pam on FB

She's in contact with Jasons mom, I'm sure the mother will tell the sister is she hears first. His sister hasn't been online yet, still waiting for her response

They're trying to get an answer about Jasons mom dna (I guess they're not sure if they can use it). That could take up to 2 months. If not, the sister is gonna give her DNA so they can check it.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I've heard the best dna/match is from a sibling, not a parent

I thought I read in June/July that his sister submitted her DNA sample?

Well submit that crap! Lol.

Lol! You took the words right outta my mouth! Unless they told her to hold off, assuming Mom's DNA would suffice
