IMO sexual offenders released from jail should live in a fenced and gated area like an old military barracks. They may leave for work or if they are in the signed custody of, picked up and dropped off by a relative for family functions. They should have to wear a monitoring device at all times so their location can be tracked. They should lose all freedom to move about in a civilized society for the remainder of their days.

And those civil rights people make me sooo angry! What about the rights of children to live free of harm, and parents to live free of fear? One man can irrevocably damage the lives of hundreds of children in his time..... Every pedo on the loose is another host of damaged kids. Is it so hard, for goodness' sake, to weigh that up?

He was sentenced to between 7 and 20 years in 2001, so if he's still considered high risk, why is he being allowed out after 12?

Agreed.

However there'd still be the risk they'd escape. We've seen just how "effective" those monitoring devices work.

Once again it's up to us to have to care for our children because the judicial system isn't doing such a great job. JMO

Unfortunately there's already predators out there that are on the registry and some that were not convicted and some who haven't offended yet who can harm your child.

Safest bet is to assume this guy is already in your area. He may not be, but someone like him probably is.

FWIW I think he'll be going to San Diego.

True a parent should watch their child well no matter if they have checked the registry or not. But checking the registry is one more tool to help in watching them. It is still worth doing.

The plans fell through on the California digs.

Szar stayed in Colchester at a hotel with a Pastor. That hotel of course being by schools and fast food places. He did check out of the hotel though.

Again here's the problem. Like mysteriew said this how these people go missing in the system. Probably not this guy because of the huge outcry, but there's most likely thousands of him out there in places people didn't even know they were coming or are just too beat down to fight something like that.
