GUILTY WA - Jennifer Bastian, 13, Tacoma, 4 Aug 1986 *ARREST*

You and me both watcher9. This new DNA matching technology has been sure popular the last few weeks & months! It's great! Maybe we can get some of these cold cases on here finally solved!

Can you get into the Pierce County court site? Just wondering! :)

But does that not say that 6/20 hearing was continued to 10/24, and the trial date 7/10 was continued to 2/12/19? So he won't be in court on 7/10, correct? Just trying to get that straight! :) TIA!

Family, friends gather in honor of solved cold case murder of Tacoma girl

TACOMA, Wash. – Friends, family and community members gathered at Kandle Park in Tacoma on Saturday for ‘Take back our Tacoma,’ an event dedicated to celebrating the life of Jennifer Bastian, who was killed 32 years ago today.

Bastian was just 13-years-old at the time of her death.

Every August 4 is a painful day for Jennifer Bastian's friends and family. But, this year is different. Two arrests have been made in two different cold case murders, and now loved ones are looking forward to justice being served.

Video of the news conference for this arrest:

Tacoma Police Department

Jennifer's sister and mother were in attendance and spoke.

Always glad to see justice in action.

This family, and all of Jenny's friends, (along with all of Tacoma), can rest easy now. As Jenny's mom said in the briefing, "Jenny should have lived to experience (marking life's milestones) herself." So sad, so true IMO.

I still get confused on that line about the visits to Washburn's home. Maybe if they wrote out the actual person they are referring to, and not use JB, since those are Jenni's initials? I realize they are talking about the Illinois neighbors. I just need to remind my goofy brain.

Thank you for all of your posts! The information is invaluable.
