I think you're right on! The below article was the last one written before her body was found (less than two hours before she was found). They mention the cell, debit, and gas card missing. All articles after this one only talk about the phone still missing. This leads me to believe the debit and gas card were found on her body.

Quote from WW:
He did say that in addition to her cell phone, authorities did not find Cowell’s debit card, or her gas card, in the vehicle where her purse and clothing were left.

He said the debit card only had about $20, and was used for incidental expenses. There has been no activity on the card since Tuesday, he said.

WAIT!!! WAS DEBIT CARD USED ON TUESDAY?????? I still have a feeling about her getting (or intending) to get drugs, possibly. Here is an idea;

MC got some cash, met someone at park to do the transaction (maybe CR or JF?). Then maybe went to drive through car wash. ( Great place to smoke if park was busy??And to kill time b4 meeting someone u PC?)

Then MC and male passenger went to meet perp/accomplice up PC. It would make sense that male passenger and the other persn they met up PC KNEW eachother......The drug transaction is the perect diversion because it sets the initial premis for SECRETIVE meeting(s).

The 3 of them get into the car together. MC leaves car there locked.....

OR same scenerio until AFTER car wash.... then MC and male pasenger went to speck house where the perp wasthere to meet them (MC may have known or not). It was here that someone hit her over back of head, parked get away car in garage (that's how they entered w/ garage code), and loaded MC in it. Getaway car could be either MC's or other perp, they brought MC up PC. Maybe they loaded her into HER car, knocked out or dead, and carried her to other car, which would be indicitive of the footprints from MC's car going in only one direction, and not beingMC's. From there they headed to CB, where they did things to make it look like the murder was gang related. I believe the horrific part of wat was done to MC may have been done after she was killed (blunt force onback of head and thenbag to finalize suffocation/murder.

If truck was purchased after dsapearance, does any one know for sure? AND WAS THERE A TRADE IN ON THE NEW TRUCK? If that was true, that would be a great way to cover upany possible evidence in the other car....... this part of my theory is farfetched due to the fact that truck may have been purchased before disappearance......

What do you guys think of these possibilities?

I am sure when I finally catch up reading I will see this is answered, but I also have some comments about the park. They are referring to Orondo St. not the city of Orondo.

I heard from someone who knew MC at Cashmere that she was WAY into drugs. I also know that one of her good friends was arrested and pleaded guilty to marijuana charges.

Along those lines I have relatives who are reformed meth users. They would meet the dealers at Riverfront Park. There is a small area by the bathrooms and the ramp leading to the river that is closed in on three sides. The trail is above this portion. You have to go down a hill on either of two sides to reach it. This is a known drug area.

Now the carwash. They would also use the carwash to do the exchange of drugs if there were too many people around the above location. Both parties (buyer and dealer) would get into one car. Inside the car was they would do the exchange so no one could see them.

I am not saying this is what happened in this case just wanting to explain some things about the reasoning.

I heard the same about the drugs. My teen daughters have relations close to her.

Where did the dismemberment come in? Was it stated somewhere that all of us (us as in my slow bunch of team members) missed. It seems to have just popped into the conversation all at once. In addition, vomit has been mentioned a few times. Can anyone track the origination of either of these down? :waitasec:

Okay, but then if not by phone, how would that meeting have been arranged?

Puf, I'm confused on why you think that the perp had to go in the water in order to place Mackenzie there? In my mind, she could've easily been placed with her feet in the water, without the perp going into the water.

GREAT job on that timeline! It's obvious quite a bit of work went into that!

Thanks.

The meeting could have been arranged at the house before she left that morning. JF: "Meet me at 3 at the park."

Ok...about the feet thing, the only way I can think of that she could have been placed there with only her feet in the water would be if she were carried over someone's shoulder with her feet on his back and head on his front, and then flipped over to flop her into the water.

WHY place her with only her feet in the water? That's my question... only reason i can think of is to wash away evidence.

With a few kids in high school myself, drugs are a form of income right now. (oops, I didn't mean for my kids. At least I hope not. It is midnight and I swear they are all upstairs) There are a lot of kids that sell them, and have never used them. It is a job without really working. That is a FACT.

I've seen nothing about Mackenzie that would draw me to that conclusion.

I don't doubt that some kids sell and don't use. I've just not seen evidence of that with Mackenzie.

That depends on the drug.

If she was on (say) drugs typically given to people with ADHD - adderall (amphetamines), ritalin, etc. - those can help with "energy" if you have a lot of stuff on your plate.

Unfortunately you'd be surprised how many people are into drugs that you wouldn't think would be :(

I agree, someone you know and love can be on certain types of drugs and you may never know. It's scary but true.

I have to say the information about the boat launch being a place where drug deals have been known to go on and then the car wash. It makes perfect sense. I have been wracking my brain wondering why on earth she would have washed her car in the middle of the day with a random male passenger. This reason makes sense. And it would also explain why someone hasn't come fwd. Not only would they be admitting that they were illegally buying or selling drugs, but they would most likely be afraid that would also make them a possible POI in a MURDER case. Wow...

Thanks.

I think it was because it was dark when they "placed" the body and they didn't know her feet were in the water. They probably didn't want to use a flashlight too much because they would be noticed by neighbors. Why do I think it was all done in the dark? Can you imagine "placing" a large girl's body down on that beach in the daylight at a vacant house? So no proof of this but it is my best guess.

Does anyone else wonder why I.C.E. is involved in the investigation?? I know that they investigate crimes that involve drug smuggling and also crimes involving child pornagraphy (perhaps some photos showed up on someone's computer).

No, honestly I wouldn't be surprised. I don't live an insular life... lol. That's why, from all I've seen in my life, Mackenzie doesn't seem the type to have a drug problem.

I just hate to see this rumor getting started with nothing to anchor it to, other than hearsay.

Snipped by me.

Wow. For someone "way into drugs," Mackenzie sure did keep a tight schedule. High school in the morning, beauty school in the afternoon, dance team after that, and then working in gym visits at Gold's in the evening. I don't travel in druggy circles, but I would guess that most drug users don't work out, much less keep the tight schedule that Mackenzie did. I admire the hell out of the girl for overcoming the taunting and bullying that she had experienced to make something of herself. She had dreams and she was working toward those dreams. I just don't see her as the type of person to be "way into drugs," but I've been wrong before.

With all the stress of that schedule? Yes, kids do smoke weed alot more than most parents think. It's an escape from pressures. Good kids do it more than you think. I know first hand from talking with them. Not all, but alot.

From the I.C.E. website:

About Us
The Office of Investigations (OI) is responsible for investigating a range of issues that may threaten national security. OI uses its legal authority to investigate issues such as immigration crime, human rights violations, and human smuggling; narcotics, weapons and other types of smuggling; and financial crimes, cybercrime, and export enforcement issues. ICE special agents also conduct investigations aimed at protecting critical infrastructure industries that are vulnerable to sabotage, attack, or exploitation.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is the largest investigative arm of DHS, charged with preventing terrorist and criminal activity by targeting the people, money, and materials that support terrorist and criminal organizations. OI is a critical asset in this mission, responsible for investigating a wide range of domestic and international activities arising from the illegal movement of people and goods into, within, and out of the United States.

ICE investigations cover a broad range of areas, including national security threats, financial and smuggling violations (including illegal arms exports), financial crimes, commercial fraud, human trafficking, narcotics smuggling, child *advertiser censored*/exploitation, and immigration fraud. ICE has 26 principal field offices throughout the United States and more than 50 international offices around the world.

so combining the most recent posts with this--------did MC pick up some kind of drug and go up to Sunnyslope house to do them with someone and the high became a violent exchange?

I highly doubt she'd go on a drug "trip" when she had to be at her Dad's for dinner in just a few hours. jmo

No, thank YOU for doing the timeline! :)

The meeting could have been arranged at the house before she left that morning. JF: "Meet me at 3 at the park."

I 'thought' (doesn't mean I thought right) that Mackenzie had been staying at her dad's at the time she went missing. Anyone know for sure?

Ok...about the feet thing, the only way I can think of that she could have been placed there with only her feet in the water would be if she were carried over someone's shoulder with her feet on his back and head on his front, and then flipped over to flop her into the water.

It could be done in the manner the groom carries his bride over the threshhold, no?

WHY place her with only her feet in the water? That's my question... only reason i can think of is to wash away evidence.

Definitely confusing unless it was purely unintentional; and it's as simple as where she was 'placed', just so happened that her feet went into the water.

LE has verified that I.C.E. is involved in the investigation. Any thoughts??
