'Wallander' author Henning Mankell is dead age 67

Swedish crime writer Henning Mankell has died of cancer aged 67. He is best known for his books featuring police inspector Kurt Wallander, which were made into a popular TV series starring Kenneth Branagh.

The writer revealed he had cancer in a newspaper column last year, adding: "My anxiety is very profound."
