Possible he was hoping it was a deer he could pick up.

But he didn't want to go on camera? IDK, something is fishy about this guy..

Anyway, neither here nor there; just an observation/MOO. :)

The person that found Chris Sexton (WV) in December wanted to remain anon too

One guy mentions sandals. That makes it sound more like someone who went missing over the summer.

There are circumstances in which the way particular remains are discovered seem a bit fishy to me as well, especially when there's no active search for anyone, but not so much this one. I get that feeling more when someone is hidden such as in a trash bag rather than just laying exposed.

When it comes to not wanting to be on camera, I don't think I would want to be either if I stumbled upon remains. My reasons have more to do with me being an introvert and just not feeling the necessity in it, but I imagine other reasons could have to do with fear of the killer or whatever coming after them. I don't think that would be very likely, but I think it's still a fear others would have.

All that said, you can't help a gut feeling! For whatever reason, we have them and I think more times than not, that reason is valid.

I hope more information is released soon in regard to the tattoos or at least that they already have an idea of this person may be.

JMO but if I ever find a body I wouldn't want to go on camera either. Just because of the frequent speculations that the finder of the body has something to do with it. (and it doesn't matter if it was a natural death)

LOL and that's exactly what I'm thinking about his NOT wanting to be on camera! I guess you can't win either way with some people ;)

There are so, so many brunette women that match that description...

Mary Sturgill from ID, missing since 2010:

No piercing listed ..but Roberta is listed as having Strawberry blonde hair - but photos show her as a brunette as well.

she has a tweety bird with a shotgun tattoo on her hip but family is unsure which side, but states tattoo is more toward the butt cheek on the hip.

So far all I have is two missing MP's that match well enough. If they have DNA a march would be made for Molly Miller pretty quickly. Nam MP#21610 if not, the next woman would be Crystal Hendrix Mp#20318. Sorry no links. I haven't figured out my new tablet all the way. Jmo, as always.

Both good matches - Molly Miller seems a little under weight though at 95lbs - last seen July 2013.

I've been looking back only to spring last year, thinking that the sandals made it likely she was left there over the warmer months. Namus lists 93 white women who went missing in that time, including the two who have already been ruled out.

I haven't finished going through the list yet. So far the most likely one is Heather Szerkeres, who went missing in Wisconsin in June. Her tattoos don't appear to match and while she has several piercings, none appear to be her face. https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/22696/91/4

Carrie Olsen missing from Iowa in December would fit the time frame but has blonde rather than dark hair and doesn't appear to have a facial piercing. https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/23761/37/

Laura Simonson, missing from Farmington Minnesota in November, fits the time frame and is the right height, but again blonde rather than dark and doesn't appear to have a facial piercing. One tattoo sounds like it lines up; I wish we had more detailed information about what they are and whether they know if those are the only tats. https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/23368/47/

Ariel Fields, runaway from Saginaw, Michigan in November 2013. Height and weight in range. https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/23414/16/. Piercing on inner arm (doesn't say which side) and several facial piercings -- though under lip is said to be on the right. Hair is probably too light, though the picture looks like it could be bleached.
