IMHO Typically females don't think in terms of female against male DV. Esp. if they themselves have been abused by a male. I wonder if she may have witnessed or experienced M against F violence and therefore became a fierce advocate. Being an advocate suggests she was actively working to help victims.

I think Millymollymandy meant that "Jessie was a fierce advocate for male against female violence" makes it sound like she was for male on female violence instead of against it.

I'm wondering if she wasn't helping a woman who was in trouble (being beaten by hubby/boyfriend) and that person's hubby/boyfriend was resentful and killed her. It's just so sad.

We know that Polly Klass was taken from inside a home. Elizabeth Smart was taken from inside the home. The little girl in California, Danielle______, was taken from the home by neighbor David Westerfield. The little girl Jessica in Florida taken from the home by the neighbor.

So it is surely not unknown for someone to come into a home while others are in the home.

Court documents obtained by WISN 12 News state that marks consistent with strangulation were noted on Blodgett's neck; however, the police chief has not commented on those documents.

Anyway, good to see an arrest has been made. Seems the perp was on a bit of a rampage. The other woman he attacked was so brave! Thank goodness she fought back, or she'd probably have been the first to die.

I wonder if Jessie's murder was random, like the other attack, or he knew her somehow..

According to the video with this news story, Bartelt knew Jessie. The video shows a clip from a video that the two made together. They also say that Bartelt was also involved in local theater.

So he -did- know her. Jessie probably let him in..

Jeez - was he on drugs? Psychotic break? His attack on the other woman shortly before Jessie's murder suggests he was not of sound mind, so to speak (I mean, who of truly sound mind murders anyone?) - as in, it may not have been a cool, calculated act out of jealousy or something. Unless he was what? Practising?

So incredibly sad. Her poor family...

And Bartelt's family, too. Surely no mother or father could go unheartbroken hearing their son committed a heinous crime like this.

So very sad for all families involved. Dan was also very musical, and he performed his own original pieces at the talent show that I saw Jessie perform at. Such a loss for both families and our community.

Hopefully there will be more information released at the press conference this afternoon.

According to the criminal complaint, Bartelt told police and his family that he worked at Rol-Air Systems in Hustisford, but when Bohr went there to find out what kind of an employee he was, they told him Bartelt had never worked there.

I hate when people say that. Clearly, they never knew his true character.

Evil people feed their egos by portraying their self as great guys. They show you what you want to see. As a general rule, the people who are being played eat it up. They swear up and down that the creep would never kill a woman, rape a child, torture a baby or even tell a lie.

I am so glad that they figured this case out as well as the other. I'm sad to know; that it was someone she knew well. But isn't that most always the case, we need nvr forget that when searching for answers regarding a child. It's almost always someone they knew.
