Found Deceased WI - Mark Hoover, 74, Middleton, 7 April 2017

Though not a friend as such, and not in touch with his family, but as a member of our County Board, on our Public Protection and Judiciary Committee, I interact with Mark on a regular basis as it relates to his work with both MOSES, http://mosesmadison.org/ and his foundation serving jail populations, http://hooverfamilyfoundation.org/ and am very concerned for his wellbeing. As of the 11:00AM (CT) news there was no mention of either him or his car having been located.

Does the foundation incur angry folks for helping people in jail? Is there a case he was particularly working on that he could have met with foul play? Do we know why he left at 10pm? Last conversations?

My understanding is that he left in the middle of the night. The last time he was seen was 10:00 pm. He took a bottle of pills with him.
Not being judgemental or anything but how did whoever saw him know he had taken a bottle of pills with him and how do they know he left in the middle of the night?

News either isn't aware of the foundation, or doesn't mention it. I think it can be a factor, just not certain in which way. Could be an upset inmate, or family, or victim, but that may end up less likely than despondency at the non-results of working with optimists (MOSES) trying to help reduce prison populations, in an area that self-admittedly has a problem with racial inequities, including in incarnation rates, and is talking about building a new jail. (Actually replace an old outmoded facility with a more humane one.) I'm in a balancing point position on the county board trying to find the best answers between extremes. Mark lives at one extreme with "the system" at the other. I appreciate the frustration. I hope it didn't kill him.

If I had a good drone, I'd start looking over water in places he might have driven the car off a dock. Not to be morbid, but he lives in an area where there are any number of such opportunities. 10 days and the car hasn't been seen? He may have driven to some private spot that he knows, but wherever it is, it's pretty well hidden. There are enough of those places as well, but I'd think those would be checked off by now. Drone above water (or trees) can see things not easily spotted otherwise. https://www.google.com/maps/place/6...bdddecd832befb!8m2!3d43.1143109!4d-89.4991333

What Kathleen is not saying here is that Mark has a history of depression. He drove away without his cane, wallet, phone, or credit cards. He took with him a bottle of pills.

Here's the interview: http://www.nbc15.com/content/news/Reward-for-info-leading-to-missing-Middleton-man-419547213.html
Well, I guess it depends on how much gas was in his Durango.
Probably can't get too far without money or credit card to fill the tank.
20 gallon tank? 16 mpg. 360 mile radius? This is terribly sad.
