So anyone got opinions on his rwhole "Itami" lore?
His sheltered (he was home schooled and has shared how it has impacted his ability to express himself with others) childhood opened up the world of anime to him and he has shared how much he likes things Japanese. He's toured Japan a bunch. Itami and the corresponding anime were part of his Persona (which is also another video game). In the anime he had created there is a scene where the girl loses a limb. The girl depicted has long wavy hair. It's eerie.

This creator/musician is HUGE. The next Big Thing. Just because we don't know about it doesn't mean he wasn't skyrocketing... a huge cash cow for Josh the Manager.... he even played at Josh's wedding in Italy and his parents were in attendance. He had cross promo with Crocs.. fortnite.... other huge companies and they're all on hold. For now.
His Fandom seems to stand by him vehemently.

I haven't been following this case closely - is it verified that she was dismembered? I recall hearing something in the beginning about that, but then also heard that it may have simply been decomposition. I'm sure it wouldn't take long in the LA heat for a body to no longer be in one piece.

No. The only good information comes from the police. The LA Times seems to be sticking to just police information.

I think the police report says body was in "black plastic body" and "not intact." I posted the actual words yesterday. Here's a link (I think the LA Times may have used NBC's info):

I had never heard of him either but reading the latter bit of your post about the companies he had things in the pipeline with, one begs the Q...why would he muck all this up over a girl? I get it, he was pretty obsessed her but obsessed enough to off her and face LWOP? Or worse!? People who have no future to look forward to might be more inclined but this chap...he was gonna be a mega star by the sounds of things!

He will go for not guilty by cause of insanity backed of pathology yet to be released supporting either multiple personalities or dissociative disorder caused by social maladjustment from homeschooling or some tripe.

Prosecution have to prove mens reae.

"A person cannot be truly guilty of a crime unless he or she consciously commits a dangerous or illegal act."

so he's going to say his other self/personality did it or he dissociated to avoid culpability.

I accidentally left this part out of my above post haha the post from the tour account on 8 Sept he talks about getting a "random bag search" at the airport when he's getting his private jet (with someone who looks like his manager on the private plane with him) on the day her body was discovered?
Just another interesting coincidence IMOO.

Could we please have a link for where he talks about that please?

Thanks !!

The detectives and the district attorney are going to have to find actual evidence linking him to a homicide, first.

He is not a POI and we should not be assuming that he's guilty. Case law on mens rea is pretty broad. Whoever put her in the trunk of the car did so because they were trying to hide something and were capable of operating the trunk and getting a black plastic bag and squeezing her in there (alive or dead).

As far as we know, DB was able to pack, get himself to an airport and perform several times right after.

A statement from D4vd's manager from your link:

“This video is false and the person is misinformed. This is the only time I’ll speak on this matter. FOR NOW. This has been a tough time for my family as I am a father of 3 children. I received no emails and I’m no one’s room mate, I live full time at home with my wife and kids. My daughter is 14 and this news is affecting so many lives. I never received any emails. I had zero knowledge of anything and I don’t live in California. Also I work remotely 95% of the time and my job doesn’t require me to have much interaction with any of my clients/David, as there are many others that work with him on a day to day capacity, not me. This news is tragic for so many and for her family. I hope the proper authorities get to the bottom of it soon. Let me remind people a lot of this is speculation and alleged. In the meantime, I am with my family helping them emotionally get through the news of this tragedy. Please report on factual information.”

Talk about totally trying to distance yourself yuk gross. A child was killed!

So hypothetically, if he is completely innocent and someone else has done this..

Should someone report HIM missing?
When was last proof of life?

What if they've do one something to him too but because it looks like he did it and he's in hiding no one's realised?

Just another thought since he's nowhere to be found. IMOO

One thing I have noticed is that Japanese pop culture is much bigger with younger generations than with older ones. I am middle-aged, I guess, 45; people in their 20s have grown up with Japanese anime and manga and pop music as huge influences in ways that would have been unthinkable. In my generation, Japanese pop culture was not nearly so mainstream.

I am not sure about that. Until the subreddit was locked down, everyone posting there was condemning him. The reactions I have seen on social media have been hostile and disbelieving.

I am sure that some of his fans do not want to believe it. That is a different thing.

And right now, we do not know enough. For all we know, someone around him may have found Celeste after she overdosed or something and took it on themself to hide her body really badly.

Yes I grew up in Japan and USA and today seeing so many American children and young adults at the LA "Anime expo" celebrating Japanese anime is amazing to me.

Re: subreddits... there are many other alt subreddits now where they have all intentionally migrated to discuss the injustice of the court of public opinion. If you look hard enough there are many die hard fans who are not hearing Rational Thought. (I've seen it, I've tried to participate but it is too exasperating)

These are VERY young fans (I know some of these kids, including mine)---- aged 14-19. IF this ends up being anything like "young fan /who could have been a love interest of D was found deceased and possibly was a victim of an overdose".... the Fandom absolutely won't bat an eyelash and he will continue to have a vibrant career. My opinion. Trying to think of a parallel.... actor Matthew Broderick was in a vehicle accident in Ireland that killed 2 women. (Ended up on the wrong side of the road.) It did nothing to tarnish his stardom. Alec Baldwin.... Scot free after shooing Halyna Hutchins..... rocker Vince Neil ... caused a car death... Caitlin Jenner... killed someone w her car... none of the above have served time for what they did and continued to Be Famous.

I just came back from visiting California in the Silicon Valley - every other car was a Tesla... that is the first thing that "shocked" me - ALL those Teslas!! :)

So - no arrest yet??
That’s (ironically) funny and you’d likely make a much better witness than me. About the only thing I notice about cars is their color and if it was a car, SUV, pickup or van. But my husband and youngest son can pretty much ID a car from it’s headlights and/or taillights.

<modsnip: Never a need for snark> Even if she was found unconscious, barely breathing or appeared to be in distress wouldn't it be more appropriate and prudent to call 911? Since everyone "claims" she was 19 years old, what is the crime or necessary cover up of an adult overdosing on pills? Oh gee...maybe they knew about her real age after all and worried about the backlash? For heaven's sake, we've got 9 year olds who know to call 911 when their parent has a medical emergency! Yet, we are to believe only one person in that huge house made the discovery, didn't have the brains of a squirrel to get help, but decides to wrap her up in plastic, carry her to a vehicle and smash her into a tiny trunk. <modsnip>

If everybody responded to a situation as they should instead of how they do, we'd all be doing something different right now because there'd be no cases to discuss. 🤷‍♀️

These threads are full of stories of people who didn't do the responsible prudent thing. Thank goodness criminals are so stupid. MOO speculation that the person responsible is someone close to DAB is valid IMO, it's either him, or someone close to him, no other logical explanation for her winding up in the frunk of that car.

Thank you for the corrective. We live in a world where people can deny COVID-19 exists right up to the point when they are being put on respirators where they die of COVID-19, so some fans taking things too far is plausible.

I do think that this puts a cap on any crossover potential. It is not only the death, which cannot be explained away as an accident, but what they did after. Celeste dying in an overdose is bad enough, but the foresight it takes to hide her body ...

It should be noted that, even in jurisdictions where drug users are explicitly protected from prosecution if they take a fellow drug users to hospital if they overdose, they do not. They are afraid of what might follow. Tempe Jane Doe in 2002 comes to mind as one example.

All of this becomes worse if you consider that this happened in the environment of a rising star, and the person involved is a deeply underage teenage runaway who has almost certainly been involved in an illegal sexual relationship with said star.
If everybody responded to a situation as they should instead of how they do, we'd all be doing something different right now because there'd be no cases to discuss. 🤷‍♀️

Exactly. If he and his entourage was completely uninvolved—if Celeste went out on her own and met someone who gave her bad drugs, say—there is still the fact that she was found in the trunk of a Tesla linked to D4vd. You would have to assume not only that the Tesla was stolen but that no one saw it in the neighbourhood being moved around.

Since this is now mainstream. It is important to realize these are the words of a "private investigator" not the attorney for D4vd, his parents or his management team. But, I find it strange a PI would already be suggesting "bad decision" defense, in my opinion.
Oh how things have changed...three weeks ago no one associated with that property even had an ounce of grief or curiosity as to her identity. The show must go on, right? 🤬🤬🤬🤬
And it was revealed quite a while back that his atty was BB.

YES and thank you.
This particular PI has an interesting background in Hollywood and has inserted himself (cough) into many cases.... IMO for his own level of clout.

I find it VERY sus that this young woman has now been depicted by almost EVERY news channel (I'm ignoring Youtubers) as a 13 yr old who was a

- habitual runaway who left home often
- from a broken home
- with parents who fought often who treated her poorly
- truant from school
- foul mouthed teen who argued with neighbors
- teen who spoke with "racist" (I disagree here) language
- teen who possibly alluded to being involved with MS ? (She mentioned being from El Salvador and not Mexico so I think Banfield ran with Sureños vs other gang connection OMFG).

..... as if ANY OF THIS would even matter when it comes to a deceased body in a car of a powerful and wealthy older adult!!!! (Excuse: they "met" online when he was 17 and she was 12-13 so they were friends!?!?)

All I know is thet if she were a straight A student from Newport Beach, the narrative would be SO very different and this makes me very angry.

Oh, I most definitely think LW has eyes on him. And ears, and tails/surveillance, etc.
