The Crown v Gerard Baden-Clay, 18th June - Trial Day 6, Week 2

Yep. It's also interesting to note that NBC stated that he and OW immediately headed to GBC's place when they learned that Allison was supposedly missing. Yet GBC later told the police that he'd phoned OW to come and take the girls to school.

That's true Makara. I don't remember if GbC called ObW again until right before he called the police.

Whilst trying to prepare a new Time Frame (no monopoly on this BTW) I did note some new information from yesterday.
Allison left the hairdresser at 7.00pm.
Assuming it took say 20 to 30 minutes to drive home, IMO there would have been approximately zero time for ANY normal activities that night. Including putting the children to bed so early.
Certain things usually happen when one arrives home; usually starting with a greeting.
Even the story of Allison watching the TV at 10pm IMO is a furphy.
PS The reason I wanted to do a time frame sequence with corroborated facts, was to compare that with what we are being told (by any family member, most significant of whom is GBC himself)
Was also thinking about Oscar Pistorius (I think it was OP; if not if was someone like him) who gave "evidence" according to what he thought investigators had on him.

I have driven that route and it would take 10-15 minutes max to get from her hairdresser to Brookfield Road.

I have to say I really do agree. Given his history of bad decisions and inability to get his act together in any sense, he just doesn't seem capable of leaving so little tangible evidence behind him that night and morning. He just doesn't strike me as having the nous. He is an experienced and thus brazen liar and probably better at being dishonest than anyone I know, but I think he would have needed help to get rid of evidence, not leave a clear trail behind him etc (unless it was completely premeditated which I don't really believe). All just my opinion!

I don't think he would have had the guts to drive her dead body out into the middle of nowhere, handle and dispose of it by himself. He seems way too much of a cry baby to deal with that alone.

Yes he probably thought they would say 'can't do anything till she's been missing for 24 hours blah blah blah'
Alarm bells rang all over the place about him from the first words in that 000 call

Yep. He totally did not expect that 2 hours after that phone call the house would be crawling with cops and he would be sitting down with CIB, getting right down to the nitty gritty of his story.

I wonder what must go through his head at night now. The case is so high profile, has had so much media attention. In his wildest dreams (nightmares?) he couldn't have imagined this. What a legacy to leave his daughters, to have to live down the Baden-Clay name.

i feel he was preparing for this as soon as the girls went to bed, pyjamas on with shoes!? what was he doing? and he had all night to make the beds and stage and tidy the house, probably already had the tea cups and saucers out! he wouldnt have been able to sleep, his adrenalin would be in overdrive!

Wonder if those are the sames runners they found with mud on them in his wardrobe?

Thank you to all who kept us updated with tweets and MSM reports today. Very much appreciated.

The remark from OW to Constable Ash about Allison falling down a hole IMO was OW being a smart *advertiser censored***d, sarcastic b**ch. I really don't believe that GBC said any such thing to the girls. I think the girls would have mentioned that when they were interviewed. It certainly would have been something that stuck in the minds! Nup, it was just twisted sister lying to a police officer who was there to try and locate Allison. Why such contempt for authority so early? I think we all know the answer to that.

I agree, I don't believe he ever told them that. OW was probably getting snarky with all their questions and said that sarcastically, hence the "is that ok?" comment.

A really sick thing to say at a time like that really.

Yep always thought someone else had to be involved in disposal of her body

I think he underestimated the police response. He probably thought he had more time to sort all of that out and get a story straight. I think all of this was in the fly. He just didn't really have the time to watertight his story. That's why it's a bit loose.

I'd bet he expected them to say "ok we will make a note of it and if she isn't back by tonight we will file a missing person report".

Also if geraldRed climbed under Kholo bridge wouldn't he leave foot prints in the mud? If he was dragging or carrying at night the footprints would definitely show this. Under the bridge the rain wouldn't have washed them away.

He either discarded his shoes before getting into the car or there would have been a mighty mess on the drivers side or around the house that needed a hose down.
I wonder if he wanted to revisit the site worrying if Allison was injured and in pain and not really dead. Would he care? Did he have nightmares?
I believe murderers return to the scene because they get worried.

Dr Margaret Stark, forensic physician was from Sydney and didn't see the scratches until a couple of days later?

It wasn't wet. You can easily walk down there when it is dry!!!! You can stay off the clay and two people could have swung her onto it.

I tend to agree with you ladies, if this was the case why was she getting narky at the police so early in the day.

Sending the children off to school at eight o'clock was a way to get rid of them. Lots of schools don't accept responsibility for student prior to 8.20am. I would have thought the little girls would have been getting anxious and upset by about 8am and the better choice would have been to drop them over to Grandma and have play with their cousins. really the more you thinks about the haste that the incident went from Allison having an early morning walk to a murder investigation was less than 2 hours> Something is really not making sense - why did Gerard have to ring the police so early, he could have told the girls that Mummy had left early for the conference, taken the children to school and then had any number of hours to concoct a better story and to tie up lots of loose ends.

His story could have been that he slept later than usual and when he woke he thought that Allison had left for the seminar, then about 10 o'clock he could have phoned her to see how it was going, phone to message bank, the normal thought would be still in the conference, lunch another try and then more regularly in the afternoon. He could have told the girl that was going with her that she had early and must travelled alone. The other lady at the conference would have given her until morning tea or after, and depending on the type of person she was, may have rung GBC at lunchtime. Really he then had until after picking the girls up, to pretend he was concerned. He could have rung the police around 5 and that would have given him a whole day, it was the weekend then and things won't have ramped up until Monday. Very badly thought out I think.

I also think OW laid out the cups and saucers, thinking neighbours would be calling by to offer help and comfort. Bring out the best china for funerals and wakes.

Yes and had plenty of time to take away the vacuum and the hose.

Why would he leave that until after he called the police? Not very bright.

I'd bet he expected them to say "ok we will make a note of it and if she isn't back by tonight we will file a missing person report".

He may have been expecting them to say they had to wait 24 hours to see if she came home on her own.

Police attended at Bwana-Castle at some stage didn't they? I wonder what they were offered their tea or coffee in? Mugs or cup & saucer?

Mumma Bear this reminded me of something Mrs Dickie said when testifying the other day. When she was asked did they socialise with the BCs she said "oh no" but we had coffee on the footpath once (with a kind of roll of the eyes). She had us all laughing with her response.
