Karen Zendrosky 1963 New Jersey

This thread also mentions Charlotte Jean Loomis (http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/1206dfnj.html) and Margaret Ellen Fox (http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/1206dfnj.html) were ruled out.

Update 27 July 2014: no new names on the ruleouts list.

Has anyone submitted Rosemary Calandreillo as a potential match? I know she disappeared
"öutside" the time frame, but seems like there are enough similarities....

NamUs says the shoes were an 8 1/2 while Doe says 6 1/2.
NamUs says she died 1980-1988 while Doe says 1973 - 1978
Will ask the case worker to clarify when she gets back to me

Hi, Roselvr!

I am new to this, having followed you guys for awhile. Did you hear back about the discrepancy between NamUS and Doe? I was following the case from the Doe information.

Welcome to WS!

No; she has not gotten back to me on a few things I emailed about. She told me she was giving it straight to NJ State Police; yet I have not seen any of the case corrections done.

bumping... i have a few girls in mind, but not sure because of the discrepancies..

Jan Andre Cotta went missing 30 minutes away from where this JD was found. Missing since 1973.
It mentions that Jan was 5-7 months pregnant; would they be able to determine pregnancy from skeletal remains that have been around 15 years? Other stats seem to fit, Jan has had no dental work and is reported to have teeth in poor condition.

Edit: I went over to Jan's discussion page and realized that she has already been compared. I did not see her on the rule out list, so I apologize for jumping on this post before finishing my research!

I grew up in Atlantic Highlands, and live only 10 minutes away, now. Very small beautiful town, I remember this and my mom speaking of it. I actually investigated it for a while, had some thoughts. I am going to re-read all. Thanks for remembering NJ!! I actually remember the day they found the remains, and I would go out on a limb to say only "locals" really new this area. I had played there many times it was a trail so to speak.

Just looked at the email, she contacted Donna Fontana about adding the pic I sent but never answered me on the shoe size or year killed. Donna Fontana is the one that entered the case.

I hope Edna Christine Thorne was compared to her. There were so many girls in a relatively small proximity that went missing during that time frame that could match Atlantic Highlands Jane Doe. The ruled out list made to the public is quite small. Someone has been missing this young girl all these years.

have been working on this following case for years...always searching etc. Last month th strangest thing happened...I was with a medium (as my husband passed away and I wanted to see if I could connect...we did btw) and someone named elizabeth came through...she thanked me for being the only one to try to think f her daily not knowing who she is... I hae been searching for women who could possibly be this unidentified woman and i came up with this...thoughts???

A few possibilities, some I like more than others: Rosemary Calandriello is a strong possible candidate previously mentioned by others here as she went missing from the area in 1969 just a little outside of the estimated death range http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/c/calandriello_rosemary.html. I would really be surprised if she hasn't been compared before despite the height discrepancy between her and this Jane Doe. Another is Valerie Cuccia http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/c/cuccia_valerie.html who went missing in 1974. She was 20 and a bit taller than the high range of the height estimate at 5'6". It is thought that she was abducted by two unidentified men she was last seen talking with. They possibly had a car with Massachusetts plates and there was speculation that's where she was taken but no direct evidence of this ever surfaced. Atlantic Highlands is only about 50 miles from Brooklyn, New York. Sylvia Lwowski might be a bit old at 22, but she was last seen by her fiancé on Staten Island, New York (only about a 30 mile, 45 minute drive away) http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/l/lwowski_sylvia.html. He claimed they had an argument in the car, she broke her glasses, then got out and walked away; and that was the last he saw of her. Not as likely due to the circumstances, but Darlene Polizzi vanished in 1967 from Lodi, New Jersey http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/p/polizzi_darlene.html. Her body is more likely in the same area where others linked to the suspect in her case were found. Marylou Bostwick was last seen in Waverly, New York close to the border of Pennsylvania on her 16th birthday in 1972 http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/b/bostwick_marylou.html. Bonita Bickwit http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/b/bickwit_bonita.html and her boyfriend went missing en route to a concert and were written off as runaways despite their families' protests, their cases were definitely botched. Rosemary Buck http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/b/buck_rosemary.html supposedly left Syracuse, New York to meet a friend in Boston and was never seen again. She had a child, which wouldn't seem to fit with this UID. Wendy Eaton http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/e/eaton_wendy.html was possibly a runaway from Media, Pennsylvania; she'd had braces in the past, she might have still had them at the time of her disappearance. Tracy King had a history of being a runaway and was living in a group home when she vanished http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/k/king_tracy.html. Tina Kemp also had a history of running away http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/k/kemp_tina.html. Ranee Gregor http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/g/gregor_ranee.html was last known to be out with her boyfriend, he was found murdered the next day and she is still missing. Melinda Creech http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/c/creech_melinda.html came from a troubled background, and the fact that her mother told a story about her supposedly dying elsewhere is a disturbing detail that doesn't add up.

New addition to Namus: https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/37617/0/ Elizabeth Lamotte. Family is in the process of submitting DNA. Went missing from NH in 1984 which is within the time frame. Looks quite similar to the reconstruction, stats not too far off.

That is interesting. I am going to call the officer in charge next week once I hunt down a few other ideas....

What is everyone's opinion about getting a compiled list of potential matches without discussion? Just a list based on statistics and no discussion to make it easy for everyone look through. I really think that we can get this Jane her name back.
