FL FL - DeLand, Male Skeletal UP12776, 18-25, in Garbage Bag, Mar'14

Those handmade mickey mouse bed sheets tell me that some child (possibly adult now) is missing a family member. Especially with the bathrobe. There is the possibility that this was a stranger abduction and the perp could have taken the sheets/bathrobe/curtain from his house but either way there was a child who was attached fondly to those sheets and would remember them disappearing suddenly. So someone out there besides the perp knows who this is.

Here is the NamUs profile for the UID. Race unsure, Sex unsure, Age Adult, Height and Weight Cannot Estimate. Dentals are in! DNA submitted.

"Wrapped in a pink bath robe, curtains, and a home-made mickey mouse print bed sheet."

FLUIDDB says Female

If dentals are in couldn't they have ruled HE out s soon as those were done?
Surely they wouldn't guess that it may not be her cause of the age of the bones!!!
I'm confused

Geez I thought remains were of a child. I spent hours looking on Charley Project for children missing under 15yo. So frustrating.

the person who once resided in that body could have been from anywhere. The remains were found not far from both I-4 and I-95, just a few miles from Daytona. The Disney sheets could have been yard sale or thrift store finds. There are many adults who are fascinated with Mickey Mouse so it doesn't necessarily mean a child is anywhere in the picture. I keep checking back and hoping they've identified the body but...

Angela Ramsey disappeared from a motel right down the street from this location in 1977. I wonder if motels could have had mickey mouse sheets back then as a Disney type decor.http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/r/ramsey_angela.html

Also Cawana Lashay Logan disappeared from her home in 2002 in Deland http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/l/logan_cawana.html Could have been her sheets or a sibling.

Thanks for bringing Angela Ramsey back to the forefront. Considering the proximity of the remains to where she was last seen, I can't let go of the notion that this could be her.

LE has been pretty tight-lipped. I hope that just means they have a good idea of who it is and don't really need the public's help at this point.

The NamUs profile says it was updated on December 29, 2014. Not sure what they updated. It says that dentals are "available and entered" but I can't remember if they've been there the whole time.

The Namus entry has said for several weeks that the remains are an adult.

https://identifyus.org/en/cases/12776

The status, BTW, is listed as "Status: Samples submitted - Tests not complete."

I'm surprised to hear this. I thought it could be a child due to the blanket. (As oceanblueeyes mentioned in another thread, this seems to be a common disposal method with mothers and their children iirc, jmo)

nothing new yet???

So I see it is an adult but there is no range in age? Is that odd? I mean it says near complete skeleton. So that would mean they could see fusion in the bones, teeth to see the progress, pubic bones...

Unless those are the only things missing?

Any pictures of bath robe or sheet?

I noticed some new information tonight on NamUs concerning the remains found in Deland, FL. As of 3/6/15, the report has been updated... The remains are of a female between the ages of 18-25.

We've been discussing it in HE's thread but thought I would post it here. Namus file updated 3/17/15, Kristine Bruce has been ruled out.

NamUs file has been updated. DNA testing is complete now. The remains are now listed as male!

Cari Dean, 17, missing in February 2013 from Orlando (42 miles away).
Chad Reynolds, 25, missing in 2009 from Ocklahawa (49 miles away). Foul play possible.
Tremaine Peek, 18, missing in 2007 from Cocoa (70 miles away). Foul play likely.
Omar Gibson, 26, missing from Gainesville (96 miles away). Foul play possible.

Oh wow!!!! A child, a female...now it's a male! Bless this poor person, I will try and dig today on possible matches.

Really. No wonder they haven't id'ed him yet. They were comparing to the wrong people.
