GUILTY NM - Ashlynne Mike, 11, San Juan County, 2 May 2016

I see now! Yes, he is worthless. I don't know how he thought he would get away with this.

Agreed. Totally worthless monster. Since he let the brother live, I don't think he was planning on getting away with this. JMO.

Is this guy a midget or something ? Maybe his small stature is what made him seem less alarming to the kids.

I don't know but I thought he was still sitting in the car.

I just finished reading the entire complaint. That poor little girl.

I'm reading it now.

Note that the complaint is referring to the brother as John Doe and I wonder if we should not be posting his name any longer since he is a minor?

i think hes lying. why was she naked, and why did it take an hour?

I think there is lots we don't really know. There were a lot of stories earlier about John Doe 1 and escaping. The forensics will inform us along with his words and the other victims and witnesses.

The guy that was arrested has a facebook, is it linked here? Anyone know if he had a twitter account or anything else about him?

It isn't link here. There was confusion over whether or not one was his.

Funeral held for Navajo girl
Thousands of people lined up outside the Farmington Civic Center for Ashlynne's funeral, and the auditorium was filled to capacity. New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez, Navajo Nation President Russell Begaye and Vice President Johnathan Nez were also in attendance.

After the funeral, there will be a procession to the San Juan Chapter House, where Ashlynne will be buried in a family plot. The procession will begin at the Farmington Civic Center; head west on Arrington to Auburn; proceed south on Auburn to Pinon; then west on Pinon to Highway 371 to Navajo Route 36, then west on NR36 to mile marker 13 and the chapter house.

Dickie said he never knew Begaye to be violent and described him as an outgoing person.

"I knew him in the sunshine," Dickie said. "But I didn't know him at home behind closed doors."

Dickie said he felt betrayed by the man he called his brother. Dickie said he and Begaye were together in a sweat lodge ceremony praying for Ashlynne and her family moments before Begaye's arrest.

The second picture down on the left, from the Journal link breaks my heart. Little Ian Mike, what a courageous boy! I pray that he knows that and gets the help he needs to cope with what has happened to Ashlynne.

He looks so void of expression, I hope they are putting him in counseling of some sort.....I feel so bad for him and the family. I feel bad for the entire community. And I read where the Perp and his brother had lost their parents, and were lost without them. (not a reason to be a monster) but I do feel so bad for his sibling/brother being left all alone now, he is a victim too....IMHO

Never think it can happen in your community. This is unreal.

''Pamela Foster, Ashlynne's mother, joined a chorus of voices criticizing law enforcement officials for failing to quickly issue an emergency notification when the girl was reported missing Monday night.
“I will plead with the leaders of the Navajo Nation to please figure out a way to help our families know that a tragedy like this will have their first priority," she said. "There should be no delay when emergencies arise.”

I think he is on the shorter side but looks shorter because the FBI guys are on the curb and he isn't. I think you are onto something though!

He is sitting inside the car and agents are standing outside the car in the photo. He is of normal height.

Navajo families extend far beyond bloodlines, through traditional clan systems that foster kinship among tribal members, and the law enforcement delays didn’t prevent about a hundred community members from searching for Ashlynne, driving across the open desert long into the night.

On Friday, his father embraced the boy as the governor praised his bravery and said Ashlynne would have been proud.
