PA PA - York, Haviland & Loucks Rd, BlkMale 30-50, UP12047, upper dental plate, prev brkn nose, Nov'13

Tried researching the boxer brand name but, of course, they are sold pretty much everywhere (walmart, amazon, ebay, overstock etc.)

They do look like 2 different men and they don't even look like they could be related, let alone resemble each other! I guess the 2 distinctive things about this man would be his robust/muscular build and nose deformity.

Thank you, Richrd. Isotope results are always so interesting. From the article:

The testing done by the University of South Florida under the direction of Dr. Erin Kimmerle Ph.D. has concluded the following information: The deceased had a higher presence of C4 (corn maize) in his childhood diet compared to the typical USA diet. This in combination with the ancestry estimate, points to Hispanic-American individual. Based upon the isotope testing they feel he was from an Hispanic family but was born and resided in the USA. The deceased spent his early childhood in southeastern USA, possibly north Florida, Georgia, southern parts of South Carolina, southern Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas. ( red zone on the map)

Also based upon this testing it has been determined the deceased spent the last decade of his life in or around the state of Pennsylvania. The states highlighted in yellow are the states consistent with the deceased’s isotope makeup. Some of those states are Maryland, West Virginia, New Jersey, Delaware, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, Vermont, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, Missouri and Maine.

Based on when this man would have grown up, 35-50 (or earlier) years ago, much of the red areas had very few Hispanics. It is different today with many working in poultry processing, farming, and other industries in Alabama, Georgia, N. Florida, Mississppi and other red areas. The one exception I see is Texas. The areas of Central, South Central, and Eastern Texas have had Hispanics in significant amounts for generations. I wouldn’t be surprised if this UID was from Texas and moved to Pennsylvania around a decade prior to his death. The fact that the areas in yellow (where he may have lived in the decade before his death) include Pennsylvania feels important to me.

There doesn't appear to be any new information about the decedent.

But it appears Richard Seward has been located; his Namus profile generates a not-found error.

Clay model unveiled in homicide cold case
"YORK, Pa. (WHTM) - The York County district attorney's office has unveiled a clay sculpture depicting what an unknown man may have looked like years before his skeletal remains were discovered in West Manchester Township in 2013."

"The sculpture was crafted by forensic specialists at Penn State University."

"He has a strong jawline and chin, and that's something that people would remember if they've seen it," forensic artist Jenny Kenyon said."

"Investigators believe the man was between 35 to 39 years old, about 5'5 to 5'8 tall, and either white or Hispanic. He likely had a muscular build and several missing teeth."

They don't have the new bust yet.

Just read the story linked above. I had a thought what about:

Donald Pulley

Donald Franklin Pulley – The Charley Project

Donald Pulley was slightly older than the assumed age but if the remains are skeletal then I would imagine there could be a possibility.

But the thing that intrigued me was the previous head injury(s). Is it possible that the various in juries were not the result of a single incident but an accumulation of different injuries? I knew Donny Pulley from around the Virginia Beach area where he had boxed and kick-boxed at local venues for many years. When I knew him in 1996 time frame he had been doing it along time even then. That would explain the previously healed broken nose etc. It sounds per the article that the injuries are suspected of being more recent and being from a single incident but I do not know. Also may explain the dental implants.

I know that Donny fought for many years after most folks hung it up and I believe he did so to make ends meet (and other reasons I suspect) raise a son, whom I remember would work his corner even at a young age. So it has kinda bothered me that this guy has never been found.

Sorry, I posted my link in the wrong thread. I believe it should have been the thread for the UID near the West Manchester Mall. I was mixing up Loucks Mill Rd and Loucks Rd.

I guess Donald Pulley could fit either one then. The only thing slightly off in the link you posted is age ( LE states that the UID could be as old as 45 but Donald Pulley was 55 when he disappeared.)

But after reading things I think this is the right thread. Namus #12407 was found near West Manchester Mall.

The clay model of an unidentified murder victim created by Penn State ADRI research associate, Jenny Kenyon.

Cold-case investigation warms up with help from forensic artist | Penn State University
"In this case, Kenyon said the individual had a very prominent, strong jaw that dictated much of the facial muscle recreation. Isotope testing of the remains, which revealed the man was most likely Hispanic-American, also helped to steer the reconstruction.

“We fully understand that this is a mixture of art and science, which means the model is most likely not 100 percent accurate,” Krout said. “But Jenny’s work is excellent, and we believe that we have a model that can hopefully lead to someone out there recognizing this face and help us to identify the victim.”

In addition to the facial reconstruction, Krout said the department is working with the University of Arizona on carbon dating the remains to determine the birth year of the victim and he is confident that there is enough DNA from the remains that can be used. The reconstruction, as well as sketches of the victim, will be entered into the National Missing and Unidentified Persons Systems to aid the investigation.

“In all forensic reconstruction we are dealing with averages, whether it be tissue-depth averages or the size and shape of the ears and nose,” Kenyon said. “But what we are trying to do is to get close enough to spark that recall and recognition of that person. That is what success looks like, but the hardest part is knowing that I can be right and nobody is watching the television at the key moment.”

Anyone with information on this case is encouraged to contact the West Manchester Township Police at 717-792-9514."
