"But our media simply do not cover the non-Muslim terror attacks with same gusto. Why? It’s a business decision. Stories about scary “others” play better. It’s a story that can simply be framed as good versus evil with Americans being the good guy and the brown Muslim as the bad.

Honestly, when is the last time we heard the media refer to those who attack abortion clinics as “Christian terrorists,” even though these attacks occur at one of every five reproductive health-care facilities? That doesn’t sell as well. After all we are a so-called Christian nation, so that would require us to look at the enemy within our country, and that makes many uncomfortable. Or worse, it makes them change the channel."

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2015/01/14/are-all-terrorists-muslims-it-s-not-even-close.html

It is extremely rare in our country for Christian fanatical homegrown terrorists to murder and even rarer to murder in mass. Back in 1996 Eric Rudolph did bomb an abortion clinic severely wounding one of the female employees and she survived. He went on to set a bomb in Atlanta that killed one woman. ER was very anti-government which some of our mass killers are. Then in 2005 another man killed a late term abortion doctor in his driveway. Yes, this killer was a Christian fanatic and called one, rightly so, when it happened. Then after a span of many years another Christian fanatical extremist killed three people outside of an CO abortion clinic. So it is still very rare for Christian extremists to resort to murder and I don't recall a case in recent memory where a Christian fanatic killed in mass other than the three who were killed in CO by one. Mass murder is defined by the FBI has four or more. As a Christian myself I have never had one problem calling these fanatical extremist Christians what they are and I haven't seen anyone else be dismissive of their extreme ideology.

However Muslim radical religious extremists have killed far more innocent victims here on our own soil in mass with even starting in 2001 when 20 Muslim terrorists murdered 3K in our country and Muslim attacks in mass here have continued. Even in the 911 attack those who ran to save others are also victims of those same terrorists since they are dying or have life debilitating illness due to breathing in the toxic air caused by these terrorists. So those terrorists are still taking lives even today.

We now have a Muslim extremist who holds the record on the largest mass shooting in our history, Omar Mateen, when he murdered 49 and wounded 53 more. Plus there have been multiple mass shooting done by Muslim extremists here whether they were homegrown terrorists who were born here or were terrorists born in another country and living here. The FBI has over 1000 open investigations concerning Islamic terrorist here in all 50 states. Many Muslim terrorists have been stopped from carrying out their plots to murder in mass and have been convicted of terrorist plots.

Many of our mass murderers are anti-government and some are racists like Dylan Roof or the four black males in CA who were in the Black Muslim Brotherhood (aka Zebra Killers) when they murdered multiple people because of their race.etc. We also have those who carryout these acts who were anti-social with histories of mental illness. Some may just want to make a name for themselves and their motives remain unknown. But the majority of mass murderers here does not do their killings where the motive was because of their religious beliefs. When Muslim extremists murder here they make their motive clearly known and they are doing it for Allah or supporting Isis terrorists who are nothing more than a cult that breeds hate and violence, imo.

It is the same when we see honor killings now happening inside of our country when a Muslim parent/s will murder their own child because they felt they had become too westernized. Some have lived here for many years but still adhere to Sharia Law.

So Christian fanatical homegrown terrorists can't begin to compare to the loss of life taken in mass by Islamic extremists and that doesn't even include all of the Islamic terrorists who have been thwarted from carrying out the plot to murder us in mass.

Turkey Identifies Club Gunman; Erdogan Speaks to Nation

ISTANBUL — Jan 4, 2017, 10:35 AM ET

It said the suspects were from the largely Muslim Russian republic of Dagestan, from China's Muslim Uighur minority and from Syria. It said they are thought to have lived with the nightclub attacker.

IS has claimed responsibility for the attack, which also wounded nearly 70 people. Of those killed, 27 were foreigners, many from the Middle East. Islamic State said a "soldier of the caliphate" had carried out the mass shooting to avenge Turkish military operations against IS in northern Syria.
The private Dogan news agency said that Wednesday's police operation targeted three families who had arrived in Izmir about 20 days ago from Konya — a city in central Turkey where the gunman is thought to have been based before carrying out the nightclub attack. It said 27 people, including women and children, were taken into custody.
At least 16 people were previously detained in connection with the attack, including two foreigners stopped Tuesday at the international terminal of Istanbul's Ataturk Airport after police checked their cellphones and luggage, according to Anado

Anadolu also reported that an array of military hardware was discovered during the raids, including night-vision equipment, a sniper scope, an ammunition belt and other items. Twenty children found at the addresses were taken into temporary care.
On Monday, police released a video that the suspected gunman apparently took of himself in a market near the nightclub.
The "selfie video" featuring the man in Istanbul's Taksim Square was first posted on a pro-ISIS Telegram account before Turkish media broadcast it, said Laith Alkhouri, a director at Flashpoint, an American business risk intelligence company tracking terrorist and cyber threats.
Alkhouri told CNN that such a release suggests the attacker was part of a network supportive of or linked to ISIS, and that he had shared the selfie footage with the terror group before or after the attack.

All the more surprising that his wife would have noticed nothing at all...... or so she claims.

IMHO we are witrnessing a new type of Jihadist. Like in Berlin, this terrorist does not seem to be on a suicide trip, getting away without getting caught is part of the plan.

So they can strike again. :(

If in fact the perp/s are connected to Dagestan, it is easy to see why a woman/wife might not dare to say anything at all!
Maybe some of the wives wish the terrorist missions still included suicide(lol)
imo, speculation.

[h=1]Russia orders inquiry into claims of FGM in Dagestan[/h] Human rights groups allege female genital mutilation has been carried out on tens of thousands of girls in North Caucasus
The Guardian has seen interviews conducted by Moscow-based journalist Marina Akhmedova, who recently travelled to Dagestan to research FGM in the area. She said female cutting was linked to the lack of rights for women in Dagestan, their low status within the family and limited work opportunities.

She said many of the women she interviewed talked about the threat of honour killings if a girl did not behave according to adats (mountain law).

One part of the plan I can understand, namely that a terrorist travels with his wife and young children so they do not attract attention.
But what about the next stage? He planned his escape, he got away and disappeared. He is probably on the run or has returned to ISIS county. Or to Europe, which heaven forbid.
What about the family? Did he simply drop them? Did he care? Had he planned to be reunited, to be able to return unseen and did something go wrong because he was rapidly identified? After all, he forgot his money in clothes that he left behind in the kitchen of the nightclub and could not pay the taxi ~ how bright is that?

I am very curious about the role of the woman in all this, and I would not count on her passivity.

The Brussels airport suicide bombers forced to leave two explosives at home when their taxi arrived to collect them and only had room for three bags.

Brahim El Bakraoui, on-the-run suspect Najim Laachraoui, along with an unidentified bomber, reacted angrily when the cab driver told them they would have to leave the suitcases behind, it's reported.
The men also wouldn't allow the unwitting driver to load the suitcases - packed with explosives - into the car, according to Belgian media.

The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) militant who attacked Istanbul’s Reina nightclub arrived in Syria from Turkey, according to newly emerged details regarding the attack.

The date when he arrived in Turkey is unknown, but he was in the Central Anatolian province of Konya on Nov. 22, 2016, before heading to Istanbul to carry out the attack on Reina, which claimed the lives of 39 people.

According to the investigation, the attacker arrived in Konya with his wife and two children and hired a house there.

The driver was later detained and his testimony was taken by police. He reportedly said the attacker spoke Turkish.

bbm I think this is reversed.

In seven minutes everything changed. That's how long it took for a gunman to kill 39 people inside. That's how long the gunfire lasted, according to staff members.

On the lower level a gas canister sits alone. Intact on one side, it is pierced by bullet holes on the other.

Video has shown the attacker shooting at it, apparently intent on making it explode. He failed. There was no gas inside.

He was going table to table and shooting people point blank.

Anyone heard about hand grandees?

Turkish police this morning arrested eight people over the bloodbath after ISIS claimed one of its 'soldiers' .....and hand grenades.

He looked relaxed and was very precise in the way he shot, like a professional

He shot people from about 10 or 15 metres away.'

He was about 25 or 26, wearing a big jacket, not wearing a mask, his face was clearly visible, he had a short beard.

The wounds were like an explosion had happened in their bodies, big, deep wounds.'
'I saw some people screaming over dead bodies, you are not going to die, you are not going to die!'

The suspect, who authorities have not named, shot his way into exclusive Istanbul nightclub Reina early on Sunday and opened fire with an automatic rifle, throwing stun grenades to allow himself to reload and shooting the wounded on the ground.

No group claimed responsibility for the attack, in which a gunman opened fire with an

AK-47 in the crowded club, much like the attack on the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Fla., in June. The Turkish government pointed the finger at the militant group Islamic State, which has killed more than 100 people in Turkey over the last year and a half.

The 7.62×39mm M43 projectile does not generally fragment when striking an opponent and has an unusual tendency to remain intact even after making contact with bone. The 7.62×39mm round produces significant wounding in cases where the bullet tumbles (yaws) in tissue,[41] but produces relatively minor wounds in cases where the bullet exits before beginning to yaw.

Two 'terrorists' armed with machine guns, grenades and a rocket launcher have been killed in a shoot-out with Turkish police while a third is on the run after a deadly car bomb outside a courthouse.

A police officer and a courthouse worker were killed in the blast, in the western city of Izmir, and five were injured - some critically - before police shot dead two attackers in a gunfight that was caught on camera.

Car bomb incident in Turkey today I think we are going to need a thread for Turkish incidents as I think these attacks are going to become a regular occurrence there. Please do not think of traveling to Turkey at the moment if you are planning too it's too dangerous especially for places tourists might go to.

The one from Berlin was killed in Italy.
The one from the nightclub in Instanbul has been identified, but he has disappeared and I haven't seen news about him lately.
