Sickos are sickos. It doesn't have to be random.

But where is she, where?

what random sicko scenario are you thinking makes sense with this POI and DS?

This situation with this POI doesn't seem like a random sicko scenario.

Seems more likely to be a guy who had a fascination with someone, then DS being a drug user. There are absolutely no signs pointing to that. I've worked on and off with substance abusers and I can't recall one that the signs were not there for one to see. What signs are here with DS?

There are plenty of cases with what appears to be a normal guy doing something like this.

Agree. Stalking/fascination seems more plausible.

Lauren Spierer theory / DS accidentally OD's followed by FG's coverup doesn't work?

seeking out black-market opiates vs sleeping with the husband of a woman with cancer. eesh.

and it could've been both. hypothetically.

an accidental OD is easier to clean-up / cover up than violently killing someone.

I don't rule out that she could have abused drugs. I look like someone who would NEVER do that but when I was young, I didn't know anyone who did more than me. And no one knew. Not even my close friends.

However, I believe she had those plans to hang out at her friend and do not believe she was trying to score some last minute drugs.

I just don't. And I know, anything is possible. I still think the romance is more likely. Somehow men in uniform grab the attention of lots of women. I think DS has struggled with serious relationships for a lot of her adult life and I would not even be surprised if she was bulimic. And perhaps a person who has more success with relationships with men who for some reason she knows are ineligible--married, out of town,....(Sherlock runs for cover, about to get stoned--by a bunch of angry sleuths. Begging for mercy she cries out "But whats with all the foodie pictures and she's still thin???")

Can you point me to a couple of cases like that so I can read?

Maybe I read it wrong but do not think so

You didn't. I also read that the plans were made that day- which was why she needed to go home and get an overnight bag. Don't recall where I read it though. One of these threads.

It may have been misspoken- but it was in these threads.

I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with virtually everything you stated. With every case I've followed here, the theory of the victim being a drug user has come up, so I'm not that surprised. However, the picture I get of DS is quite different than this profile. She is a successful businesswoman with an obvious zest for life (traveling, eating healthy, hiking, etc.). She has a supportive family and friends, quite large in fact. Previous teachers and parents of children she babysat have confirmed on the FDS site of DS's kind-hearted and outgoing nature. Bad things do happen to good people. IMO, it's just that simple.

DS is no doubt all of those things.

DS also had lower leg surgery that caused her much pain and laid her up for months:

At the end of September, 2013 Danielle broke her ankle requiring surgery and pinning of the bones in her ankle. She was casted for 8 weeks. She was sidelined for quite a while, and in a lot of pain. She got back most of her mobility through physical therapy and a great deal of stretching exercises. After the ordeal, she was left with these 3 dark 'scar spots' on her ankle, and 1 near her knee. They are noticeable, and very unique. There is also a healed incision near the knee that is barely visible. See the attached photo.

Jessie Matthew, killer of Hannah Graham and Morgan Harrington. Now that we know the guy was a serial killer, it almost unbelievable that most of the people in his life thought he was just a sweet, lovable teddy bear. He was a goofy guy who was a football hero in high school. His high school friends even set up a defense fund and urged him on Facebook to be strong. Now we know he killed Hannah Graham, brutally raped an unnamed victim (for which he was convicted by physical evidence) and also killed Morgan Harrington. He was also accused of rape by an unnamed rape survivor and kicked out of at least one university for it. But that was all kept quiet and most locals in Charlottesville viewed him as utterly harmless, if maybe a little inappropriate with women when drunk.

I am no expert but, in my experience, cell phone geo-location data has improved significantly since 2014, when the New Yorker article was written. It varies by location, the number of cell towers in the area, and the carrier, as far as I can tell. Many newer cell phones access gps data, independent of cell towers, and that is very accurate.

I am holding the 7PM time lightly. The cell was off at 7PM but we don't know when it was last on. The friend may not have called DS about being late until 7PM. LE has DS' cell records so they have a much better idea.

You can turn gps off on Core Prime. I don't know if she routinely leaves hers on or not. I dont like mine on all the time. I have a latest in Galaxy series and when you turn gps location off it can't access your location to give you directions somewhere. I'm no expert either but doesn't seem likely LE can request carrier to ping it either.

Same day plans? The sleepover.

That may have been my fault. From the horses mouth (not hearsay) they last spoke at 4:15PM. At that point DS confirmed she could leave work early. I thought that was when they initially made plans. I stand corrected.

I'm not the OP ... but this case came to mind:

John Leathem / Paige Doherty

I realize it's apples to oranges, being that AFAWK, SG isn't a serial killer / abductor, nor would he necessarily become one. We may never know that. But most predators / killers, serial or otherwise, lead seemingly normal, average lives. Until one day the truth comes out. They all start somewhere. Look at Gary Ridgeway. Dennis Rader. Who would have ever suspected? The POI here may be clean cut, intelligent, athletic, gainfully employed, popular, no criminal record ... and still be a monster underneath.

One reason I don't think FG violently killed DS, following from what appears to be LE's theory that the crime occurred in the house on Robina-Oxford:

he's still a free man

Violently kill someone in a house, and a few days later the police are there talking to you and raiding your house....blood splatter, defensive wounds, broken furniture, stained/missing carpet, hair, fibers from clothing, etc.

However, if someone OD's, there's far less of that sort of thing. Sure, a few fibers from clothing. But no blood and signs of a violent struggle (defensive wounds, broken furniture, holes in walls, etc)

Maybe the police found all of that. But I'm guessing they did not. Esp if they needed to take the cars (and maybe electronic items) in and process them before they had enough probable cause to go back for other items. Dunno if that's the case, but it's weird they didn't take what they took later right away. Assuming the initial warrant delineated certain items and they had to get those and validate their theory before going back for another warrant to take the other items.

Hence, I'm leaning OD vs he beat her to death or shot her or knifed her.

See: the Lauren Spierer case for an example of where it's likely she OD'd in an apt and the police had full access to the apt right away and were unable to come up with enough evidence to make an arrest of the people there with her that night.

Unless something happened Thursday night. Quarrel, break-up, or whatever. And revenge taken on Friday. And they never made it to the home.

Well, it seems as if there is more and more information coming out each day about what happened to Dani.
I just like to post these every so often so we remember who this is about.

Please be safe. I really really want to be wrong.

Violently strangled, leaves no traces anywhere but the body. Rapes don't have to leave traces either, and many often turn deadly with no blood.

I'll add to that list. Scott/Laci Peterson :( :( Her parents angrily proclaimed his lack of involvement at first, that is, until it came to light that he was dating a massage therapist and telling her he lost his wife (before he literally "lost" his wife). Also, as long as we're in the Ps, my favorite case since it took place in my neighborhood, Michael/Kathleen Atwood Peterson. Many people in the 'hood thought he was totally innocent at the time, though since his conviction most have come around to believing he murdered her.
