I'm reading that Russ Ptacek has been covering Kara's case since the day she disappeared.

Yes, I believe that is true. He was featured prominently in the 'Disappeared' episode about Kara.

I've read that KY's family is supportive of him and says he's innocent. How could they possibly deny his obvious involvement? Especially now with these two poor girls found tossed away like trash. Makes me sick.

Tears of joy and sadness now. I am so sad for the families of these girls, but at the same time the process of justice can begin to ensure that monster never gets to hurt anyone else ever again. So many of us have been here for so long on this thread, trying to find clues and answers. Thanks to all of you who have kept Jessica's and Kara's threads going for so long. :grouphug:

A few weeks ago when Toni Anderson was found, I just hoped they could get justice for Kara Kopetsky and Jessica too... Never thought this would all happen so close together. Crazy.

I would think it would take longer to identify Kara as she has been gone longer. imo

Rip Jessica!

Spring is often a revealing season. Isabel Celis' remains were recently found in AZ as well, after nearly 5 years.

Sure I can see his bro saying that. And his grandpa who just doesn't want to believe it but also won't protect him anymore. His dad is disgusted with him http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=15...t-dad-pained-by-missouri-sons-violent-history and his mom? Well, I always thought they might have a messed up relationship but I could believe a version where she thinks he can do no wrong. In fact that would make all kinds of sense. JMO.

Tbone its funny - we talked about quarries a lot in Jessica's threads thinking he may have taken her to one and burned her in it, but we were looking closer to home. Knowing what we know now, everything falls into place, (modsnip)

I came to WS a few years after Kara disappeared. When Jessica went missing I went and read Kara's thread. I just couldn't believe he would get away with it twice. The cruelty in that was striking to me.

It's also occurred to me that there is probably a good measure of emotional involvement for anyone assisting the families here (thinking of Mr. Ptacek.) I hope everyone finds a bit of peace from tonight's news.

Anyone else happy for closure however sad in the same instance..

Yes, me too. Although I hate the outcome, I'm glad Jessica can be laid to rest. Hoping Kara's family receives answers, too.

I'm ready for it! Emotional, but ready. I feared it would take a lot longer for us to get where we are today but I'm so grateful for whoever that mushroom hunter is. He stumbled upon a secret so many have been trying unveil for a long, long time.

Some of the bones found two days ago in rural Cass County have been identified as those of missing Raymore woman Jessica Runions.

Kansas City Police notified the Runions family Wednesday evening, according to a release from the Cass County Sheriff’s Office. Runions, 21, was last seen on Sept. 8.

Forensic specialists were called in after a mushroom hunter found human bones Monday afternoon near a quarry in rural Cass County. One skull was found the first day of the search and a second the day after.

Because the second skull appears to be much older, it could take months to identify.
