Thank goodness for this morning's witnesses (and officer Henson)! Not only did they observe they acted - so often we see quotes in msm from people after the fact who are sorry they didn't call 911 at the time.

I wasn't an active member yet when Cherish's case went down but I caught up once I registered. As a relative newbie to the extensive sleuthing y'all do here at WS it was not only amazing to see but I also felt a little relieved to see others interested in true crime. Before that I felt a little macabre for following the stories. KWIM?

Anyway, DS is IMO exactly as Alexwood and the rest of you are calling it out; self-obsessed, overly confident, full of hubris, controlling (that's why he crossed his arms to the officer - he wanted to be in charge even for his own arrest!) and most of all a sick individual who should have been off the streets decades ago.

Well, MsMarple (may I call you Jane!?), you've certainly done your part and more since jumping in with the rest of us sleuthers! Cases are't quite complete without you. And it's not macabre -- and sometimes I think we have actually helped LE with a few murder mysteries.

Hey, don't thank me. I was only getting you farther off the trail! But I have to say, that photo looks more like the one that wasn't him than he does! (If you get my drift ...?!)

That record says: Current as of 03/29/2007? But hadn't he just been released again about 21 days prior to abducting Cherish? Why wasn't it updated after 2007? Also, that St. Petersburg address HAS to be old too. SMH?!

I can understand not showing photos of Cherish's body and stuff like that to a live video feed, out of respect for her and the family. But it would be nice to see the van and things of that nature. Maybe some of those will be on news sites later.

Seems like that poor court reporter really got stuck in a bum spot sitting right in front of the wittiness stand. No matter what she does she always stuck in a picture.

So, in the second photo, there's that front passenger seat in the reclining position, just like Rayne testified today. She said it was reclined "like a dentist's chair." I was hoping they'd ask her when she was on the stand if the seat was returned to the upright position before she got into the van at Dollar General. They did not ask. Wonder why he had it in that position. Notice the closed blind on the rear door window. That's creepy for sure.

And something else I just thought of from Rayne's testimony today, was when she recalled a phone call that DS received on his cell phone. I think this happened while they were sitting in the van at the Dollar General Store, waiting for his "wife" in her "gold car". She said she had not heard his phone ring, but yet he "answered" it -- so she assumed it was on vibrate mode. He acted as though he was speaking with his wife and they discussed what they were going to eat. The subject of Chinese Food was mentioned. Rayne said that she thought to herself that she really didn't want to have Chinese Food.

Just one more thing to show what a deceptive con artist DS is. He probably faked that call to put RP at more ease so that he could carry out his evil plan. He went to extraordinary lengths to deceive her and make her think that he was just a wonderful, generous, church-going Good Samaritan.

I'm wondering if DS didn't see them as they made their way on foot (and with the stroller) to the Dollar General Store that day. He could have targeted them then and pulled into the parking lot to wait for them.

I wondered about that space for the stroller too. All the time me and hubby were watching them in Walmart I was shouting. I believe rayne was targeted if not before dollar store then inside that store when she was shopping. Watching rayne, and I'm not bashing but all 3 of the children were wandering off everywhere in different isles. I think DS was looking for someone like this who he could take advantage of. This was well planned in my opinion. Did anyone else notice on the Walmart video DS walking off on his own and then you see him shown walking the full length of the shop. I think he was looking at McDonalds and checking when it closed so that when he took cherish there he would have an excuse to leave.

Jacksonville should be really proud of all these brave quick thinking witnesses.
