ThreeAnd apparently her giving them two beautiful grandchildren didn't soften the attitude. Sickening.

Two reasons or a combination of the two:Why did CW take the plea deal? I have a couple of thoughts but am curious what others think.
What I don’t understand is how the parents haven’t brought up the girls once in any of the interviews. Nothing about “we are devastated those innocent girls and soon to be grandson are gone and we are so sad etc. This is very telling to me. My parents and in laws care more about my kids than me and my hubby. Everyone’s whole world is revolved around the grand babies for my family. But not once did they mention their own grandchildren in any interviews.
Yes, this, exactly.Ha! That’s rich.
Hard to believe that a guy who could treat the bodies of his family like that, and calmly lie on national television, could have any involvement in the murder of his children.
The delusion is strong with those people.
But they did hear it from him, we all did. The mother herself said she basically told him not to say he is guilty, then, she says, the Atty stopped her from saying more.
The way I’m understanding it is they want a chance to talk alone with their son with nobody else present to interfere. In their minds CW’s attorneys have kept their son away from them. I could be wrong because I haven’t forgotten Jackie Peterson, who told Scott, “Deny, deny, deny,” but they haven’t had a chance to talk alone with their son for months. His father believed him when he said SW killed the girls and needs to hear directly from CW that he lied to him, SW didn’t do it, he did. And then they want to know what the trigger was. Would that satisfy them? I don’t know.BBM. They did hear it from CW in a court of law, no less.
They will never, ever accept it.
Wow, that second article really seems to mirror her sons interviews. It's all about her; "I cry in the morning. I cry in the afternoon, I cry when someone gives me a hug. I just want to know what triggered it." She mentions several times she wants to find out what the trigger was ( what Shanann did to cause him to lose control) how she thinks she is more capable of this than her son. Then says he is not capable of it at all. Not one word about her grandchildren. Then she states that someone needs to do something to help him. A call to arms maybe? This is really adding fuel to the fire for his supporters. I wonder what they are saying now. No wonder his legal team kept her away from him. She is toxic. They've expressed no grief over losing three grandchildren. They haven't mentioned the grandchildren. It's been all about Mama Watts and what she wants! If he didn't kill the children, I want him to face that and let them prove it': Chris Watts' parents say they want their son to take BACK his guilty plea of murdering his wife and two daughters

I try not to judge the perpetrators family in tragic situations like this. No family wants to accept that their loved one is capable of a crime as heinous as this. They love their son and are in disbelief he could have done this and they have lost their grandchildren. They must be in a state of shock still at what has happened and are unsurprisingly having great difficulty accepting what has happened.
Because he is guilty, the state has overwhelming evidence of it, and he doesn't want the world to hear and see what he did. MOOWhy did CW take the plea deal? I have a couple of thoughts but am curious what others think.

If Wattses can talk in public like this, how must it be and have been, behind closed doors? smhI am astounded that they couldn't even muster up ONE nice or kind of nice thing to say about their murdered daughter-in-law. Even something generic like, "Shan'ann was so good to her mother and was a great big sister to her brother."
Instead, they just criticize and bash and blame. Apparently their parents didn't teach them that speaking ill of the dead is not a good look, especially when the person has been murdered by your own son.
Wow - that video in the second interview. After the newscasters show the clip of CW parents, they talk more about the case and say there is a "letter" that CW wrote to his sister at some point and said, "If anything happens to me, look at my wife," and that the family says that proves Shanann was unstable. That is the first I have read/seen of this "letter." Have we discussed that at all here? I don’t think so. I think I read somewhere that ethically his attorneys are not allowed to discuss the case with anyone without CW’s consent. I believe CW is too big a coward to face them, but his parents aren’t ready to believe that. They think they have to fight for their son because no one else will.I totally agree with this- but if CW, the client, tells the lawyer not to tell his oarents anything ..... isn’t the lawyer then legally obligated to not tell them?
No it’s not the way to go about this, but they’re striking me as uneducated and not very sophisticated in these matters. They’re desperate.General public sympathy might not get them what they want right now (a toss out of the plea), but it would still go a long way in helping them make other things happen. This is not the way to go about gaining it. Speaking ill of the dead, ignoring their grandkids in their interviews, just continues to drive a wedge between public perception of the family and the victims' family.
