A woman in her 30ies got injured when she tried to take a selfie with a jaguar at Wildlife World Zoo in Arizona. She had climbed a barrier to get closer to the big cat, but the female jaguar didn't seem to like the idea, so she clawed the woman's arm instead. A woman was trying to take a selfie with a jaguar when it attacked her, authorities say
I hope nothing will be done to the jaguar, it's not its fault when someone is stupid enough to try to get too close to a wild animal, even if its at a zoo. There are a reason why there are barriers, both for the sake of the animals, as well as the visitors. Shouldn't a person in her 30ies know that wild animals don't act like pets when getting too close? And why the need to take selfies at dangerous places?

'She won’t be put down': Wildlife World Zoo says nothing will happen to jaguar that injured woman

The Wildlife World Zoo Aquarium & Safari Park says the female jaguar that injured a woman Saturday will not be euthanized.

The incident at the zoo in Litchfield Park immediately sparked concerns on social media for the jaguar's fate, with many worried this story would not end well for the animal.

Happy to hear the jaguar will not be killed because a stupid human broke into its living quarters.

The question is will this woman sue the zoo because she was attacked? People do crazy things!

I'm glad the Jaguar is going to be spared.

Horrible to think that wonderful creature would be penalized for incredible stupidity and lack of respect for a wild animal protecting itself

the key word is 'wild'
they don't belong caged up in zoos where stupid people with a camera phone can exploit them IMO

she should be sued herself for harassing the jaguar and putting the people who saved her at risk
and just generally for stupidity IMO

Remember when the 7 or 8 year old kid jumped into the gorilla cage? He dragged him about like a rag doll through his little ponds of water? They killed that gorgeous animal even though people argued that his dragging the kid was an act of protecting him from the screaming crowd. So glad this cat was spared. Procreation should require an aptitude test.

Harambe. RIP

I'm still mad about that.

The woman returned to the Zoo on Sunday to meet with the owner. The woman said she loved the zoo and "feels horrible about the bad publicity the zoo is getting regarding the incident." She also reportedly apologized and admitted fault in the incident.

The zoo said that it will not euthanize the jaguar, saying "there were proper barriers in place" to keep everyone safe.

At least she feels bad for her downright stupidity. Why doesn't these kind of news get popular and make people have some grip on sense and not get too close to wild animals.

I see it all of the time at Yellowstone National Park, people try to get closer for pictures. These are not pets! And if anything happens, the animal is euthanized.
