Woman with SE Texas ties ID'd as 'Killing Fields' victim
"Cook had lived in the Houston and Channelview areas from 1976-1985, police said, and had worked as a mechanic for a golf cart company in Houston in 1979. She lost contact with her family in December 1985.

Prudhomme had previously lived in the Beaumont and Austin areas.

A breakthrough in forensic DNA analysis helped detectives identify the skeletal remains of the two victims, both found in an area off Calder Road.

The "Texas Killing Fields" is a boggy, 25-acre stretch of land along Interstate 45 where four women's bodies were found between 1983 and 1991, including Cook and Prudhomme. No one has been convicted in connection with the four deaths."

Finally we know who this women are. As soon I came home from work...searching for the presser. Had to be patient. Sad nobody is linked to the killings (yet). Rest in peace Audrey and Donna. Condolences to both families. It took so many years...to many...

They announced there would new developments in the Killing Fields murders on the local news earlier, then I missed the report. Appreciate the posts here since I missed it.

Texas authorities identify 2 victims in decades-old 'Killing Fields' murders using genetic genealogy

Cook moved to the Houston area with her girlfriend at the time to establish “a new life,” Bluffington said. She regularly communicated with her parents via letters and phone calls and when they hadn’t heard from her in a while, they traveled to Houston to search for her, Bluffington said.

-------------------

Prudhomme “just kind of fell out of contact with her family,” Bluffington said. Her sister knew she was living in the Seabrook area and the two had communicated a few times by mail. But “they just kind of lived different lives,” Bluffington said.

The purpose of one of Prudhomme’s moves was to escape an abusive relationship and she arranged for her two sons live with their grandparents, Bluffington said.

Only one of her sons is still living. When investigators spoke to him, he told them he “kind of thought his mom just moved on.”

Confessed killer details murder of Texas Killing Fields victim

2 yr old article about the inmate who has claimed (on and off) since 1991 he killed 'Janet Doe' now known as Donna Prudhomme.

Mark Stallings is a liar. He confessed to killing all 4 victims previously, recanted, confessed again, recanted. That is what he does. Not sure what his angle is, but he has tried to escape from prison once already and to me, it seems like he is trying to go on a 'field trip' so he can attempt to escape again.
