I love that this reporter took the time and did this. I’m tearing up AGAIN at such a wonderful woman losing her life.

Allison S. from 9News has been posting very detailed notes from the trial in articles every evening. The most informative and detailed pieces I’ve seen.

She posts them on the 9News (KUSA) Facebook page every evening.

Sorry to just pop in without reading all the posts but what strikes me here is that the franch is part of the disputed estate. I hadn't heard that before.

If worry that BabyK would inherit part of that estate isn't a motive, I don't know what would be!! MOO

According to testimony, the dad's estate valued at $400,000.

Reportedly, the franchette is 35 acres -- this is no Ponderosa.

My guess is dad's estate excludes SF's residence and probably includes half or less of the raw land acreage.

PF had RS as his "father figure" so I think the dissolution between PF's parents took place decades ago.

I really think this is nothing more than adult siblings issue that's been brewing for decades. Especially against one member that failed to launch, like ever.

It blows my mind about the camera..... I mean, if you’re
Going to murder someone , maybe look????

He never ceases to amaze me. He is so back woods stupid,
So out of touch w modern society!!! How could he not realize having the phone w him... would be traced to him! All the phone call stuff, the pings and what not... makes me think PF is borderline barbaric! Did he not think he would be on any
Camera?!

Burn baby burn!!!

Agree, that he doesn’t have a clue about modern society or electronics. A year ago when I watched the YouTube videos that he’d made on dog training, during the beginning of one of his videos he struggled to figure out how to use the cell phone camera. He said on the video that he didn’t even have a phone to use to film, that he had to borrow one to make the video.

My grandfather had a large dairy farm, and had a few tractors. My uncles had cattle ranches and they also had tractors. They used tractors for various jobs and for small crops they grew to help support the ranch.

Some people who live on a ranch/farm don't farm, but have a tractor to plow and move snow.

See pic above where visitors usually parked at the Franch. For someone (PF) to park on the
side of the home, they were hiding something.
Maybe a body in the back of the truck. mOO.

You're probably right but the fact that the prosecution brings it up again makes me think there's more coming about the subject.

They've had a year to tighten the case to the bare essentials, yet this remained.

yes and if they have cows and horses most small farmers have at least a small tractor w/ a bucket
to move hay round bales, clean paddocks etc.

To someone like PF, 133k is a huge windfall. He is living with his Mom, and scraping coins together to make ends meet.

He also wanted to get rid of her because he was tired of 'co-parenting' --IMO. I think it annoyed him immensely to have to give up total control of HIS child. He wanted to 'train' her the same way he trained his domestic animals. He didn't need Kelsey getting in his way. JMO

I agree. I think his motive became multifaceted. There was probably something towards the end that put him over the top but I think his motive was because of a number of different reasons.

Things like:

*PF's mom may have bonded with the grandchild which could have put pressure on PF to want sole custody.

*Financial reasons to get sole custody and not have to pay KB any money in the future

*traveling issues for any visitation would not be required if he eliminated KB from the picture

*possible other financial reasons involving his Dad's estate if any was designated for his grandchild

*KK's jealousy towards KB may have influenced PF

I didn’t see it mentioned in the reporters lunchtime tweets, but during KKTV Ashley Franco’s Facebook live, she said that SF testified this morning that when PF first told him that Kelsey was missing he also told him that Kelsey’s grandmother was sick and Kelsey may have went to visit her.

As you recall, this is exactly the same as the tweet *Kelsey* sent to Doss but PF never told police (or CB) that he suspected she could’ve went to her sick grandmothers.

Here’s the link to Ashley’s FB live:

Jurors are permitted to ask questions. Have we heard this before?

Not in all jurisdictions. Good to know.

I think the estate was being split 3 ways with the Franzee kids. I think the dispute was most likely that PF would either need to buy out his siblings or sell the ranch. I doubt PF had the means to buy his sibling out and MA F and PF were going to be out of the ranch. I personally don't think the estate dispute was what drove PF to murder KB. I think the thought of his current financial situation along with the possibility of paying child support added to it, but I don't think it was the driving force.

exactly. My grandpa used it to distribute hay for feed and to move it in and out of the barn.

I know that Arizona allows jurors to submit questions. I didnt know Colorado did too.

I LOVE that option. We learned a lot about the jurors in the Arias trial with the questions they asked. The judge weeds through them though.

It is weird that EF would want dirt on her brother though. How could that affect the distribution of an inheritance?
I think that would affect a custody battle but how does it affect distribution of a deceased relatives assets?

IMO, PF wanted nothing more than for his defense to rip apart his brother's testimony.

If looks could kill moment....

I think the prosecution brought up the finances to explain the tension in the family and siblings -- more specifically to snuff out any allegations or questions about why SF2 participated in meet up with CBI when PF gave up his phone without a warrant, and his testimony today.

I wonder how good the defense is at cross examination. That makes all the difference in the world with these cases.

A good defense attorney can make juries discount or dismiss important evidence. A bad defense attorney can help the prosecution. I hope we can get some detailed reporting about the defense and their crosses.

The defense was not admitting that it was PF on the camera, as only could see the back of him. Pffft. Won't fly Mr. Defense atty.

Makes me recall the recent Markel case, where the juror(s) that were interviewed said that the key to guilty verdict and prosecution was .................that they had on camera a few minutes before and a few minutes after the murder, the vehicle caught on camera right by the murder scene.

Looking forward to afternoon notes. I would assume Ma is NOT on the stand right now, as I would think that the media would sacrifice a plebe to run out to tweet that

Glad they have all those surveillance videos of the truck going/coming.

Yeah, there's something just under the surface of this that, hopefully, we'll discover soon.

Kelsey Berreth murder case: Patrick Frazee’s brother — who is a Colorado police officer — takes stand in murder trial – Canon City Daily Record
[...]

The expert who compiled the images, Chad Meninger, said the method he used to find and timestamp the images meant things could be slightly out of order, but would be accurate within a few hours. Steigerwald also pointed out that none of the photos show Frazee carrying a large black box, which prosecutors alleged Frazee used to carry Berreth’s body out of the condo.

But footage from an ATM that Frazee visited just after noon on Thanksgiving Day showed a large black box in the back of his red truck, an investigator from the 4th Judicial District Attorney’s Office testified.

The investigator, Stephanie Courtney, also said that a surveillance camera at a local furniture store showed the box in the trunk. The various images also showed that the box moved or was repositioned in the trunk between 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.

Yeah just some random guy holding a baby outside Kelsey’s house.

Probably driving an identical truck with a tote in the back.

The fact it is part of a timeline that fits perfectly with PF’s two phone calls, and arrival at the Franch, is also a coincidence.

Such desperation. The defense is basically saying this too:

“Oh, and if you don’t buy that ladies and gentleman, shadows prove that the photos are out of order. Please ignore the fact that this is completely irrelevant, as the maximum amount of time a photo can be off is about an hour. Thanks.”
