drsleuth can I test your memory please :)

referring back to this....

DP " on thur 11/9 I was working on buses , RP picked you up 12pm"

FA : " That again not correct Mr Parish, police have evidence"

Coroner " I have read all the evidence Mr Abbott"

Did you get a sense the Coroner was cutting FA off in an effort to stop him revealing the evidence FA has given to the police? It seems an odd interjection to me.

I think she was just about at her wits end really

It was after she had already said to him " Just answer the questions Mr Abbott " , "I'll stop you there Mr Abbott, I've given you some leway" etc

Another interesting comment when FA just kept going on & on @ DP.

DP said to the coroner " This has nothing to do with WT" & The Coroner replied " I know "

I don't feel quite the same way about Ray Porter. He hung around with a disgusting, despicable man. What kind of person was Porter that he could do that?

Was it a confession from Porter? Or was he determined to make Abbott pay for something (else) despicable? Abbott seemed to get off on some major charges when he could have been very guilty. Porter may have known that.

Or maybe Porter was upset that he got no support from Abbott while Porter was very ill. Could he have been petty enough to think "I stuck by you and helped you, now when I need people the most where are you?"
Was Abbott in prison the whole time that Porter was ill? Did they have some kind of falling out?

Or maybe Porter thought if he 'confessed' this to someone else, they would get the police off his back ... because it does not seem that he told the police this little story, even though they apparently visited him a few times.

We have no idea how these type of minds think, because we are not these kinds of people. They do things that are unimaginable to us.

Quite honestly, I could easily put any one of several people up for consideration for this crime. On the little that we know.
I agree SA. I am not empathetic towards any of the FA supporters/ ex-supporters. That includes MP, DP, GO and RP. It's difficult to believe any of them are telling the truth. Guilty by association IMO.

yes so hard

Thanks Dr. Sounds like it was a comment made out of frustration. She'll need the patience of Jobe when he is in the witness box

PS new all these walking trails like the back of his hand. I just find it very hard to believe that he "got lost" on that very important day

likewise Doc, but perhaps he got ‘lost’ in time while visiting the friend in the caravan that we heard about.... was there any mention of that person at the inquest ?

Thank you Blue Clues, with all this lockdown Sage Three, doing home schooling(Being Teacher) with school on line with the family, partner working from home I feel I am losing track with everything.
I read when I can to catch up with the thread, hopefully there will be more answers about Little William in October, people have a chance think and decide will the truth be let out.
Small Town often know a lot more than what they say in the past even in the present. hopefully it will change in the future.

Yes, I am not buying that he was scared either. He was in front of the media all of the time, posing for pics, commenting about this neighbour and that neighbour, and other things. Not the behaviour of a frightened and/or threatened person. imo

Then when things started pointing at him a little - that he was a POI - he blew up at the media and showed his ugly side.
and spying, and harrassing the posty and FGM he just used it to his advantage and i think it worked, people saw him a frail old man...na..im 100% certin there is more to his past than we know

Do you think there is a chance that PS didn’t search for William in those first few hours at all? If I recall correctly, no one else saw him searching that day. So could his inconsistencies be due to the fact that he didn’t search, felt guilty and lied about what he was doing later?

ETA: I’m exploring the possibility that it was nothing nefarious or unusual, but just that he had plans to relax or do another activity after his walk and a missing child wasn’t going to get in his way of that. There are some people out there that wouldn’t be concerned about someone else’s child, and maybe he assumed he would be found quickly and the search would be a waste of his time?

BBM Well, apparently he had made plans to pick up his brother from hospital. It's not explained if he contacted him to let him know he wasn't coming and why. He did go out searching again after his brother-in-law arrived.

Apparently he did call his brother after AMS knocked on his door according to I Catch killers

" Apart from sitting on the verandah, Paul himself was in & out of the house, packing to drive to Lismore, over four hours away, to pick up his brother from hospital. But he didn't see or hear any frantic search for William until he got a knock on the door from a neighbour saying a little boy was missing. After that , Paul cancelled the trip to Lismore and went out looking for him"

"Cancelled" might just mean decided not to go, but there was also the call from the Savages' place to Casino Hospital at 4:36. I also remember PS saying at some point that from memory he thought he'd made a call to cancel to the trip but had been told (by police?) that he didn't.

Loxoli--PS's name is all over the map showing group searches of Benaroon and Ellendale that happened in the first couple of days. We have also seen a video of him among early searchers. He did go off by himself initially but I don't think he can be fairly accused of shirking afterwards.

I remembered that there was proof of him searching later that day, but I am curious about the inconsistencies, getting lost and not reporting back to police where he had looked in those first few hours. I’m just wracking my brains trying to figure his behaviour out. There’s just nothing I can find that definitively corroborates where he was in those first few hours. On the other hand, there isn’t any proof that he wasn’t where he says he was either, so I don’t know.
