Coronavirus COVID-19 - Global Health Pandemic #81

I agree Katy.

I'm not one to point fingers because when I do I know three fingers are pointing directly at me.

Since I'm one year younger than our President I try to be as cautious as I can, but I would be dishonest if I said I've followed it each, and everytime.

I know the majority may disagree with me, and I highly respect all who do, but I think it was very important for PT to be seen out, and about since our adversaries are watching like a hawk. Imo, it is highly important for our national security for the world to know he's combating the virus, and doing very well. As our president he must show strength, and courage. It lets all of the countries who wouldn't like anything better than to see him on his death bed know he is still fully in power not only as our president, but Commander in Chief who is still very capable of fulfilling his duties. Imo, it was done to send a strong message.

As for the SS, I agree with you. From everything I've read they were fully suited in all proper PPEs most likely like all of our doctors, nurses or other first responders or maybe even more so since I believe I read they had respirator equipment on as well.

As far as what other doctors say who haven't even treated PT, I bypass those articles for they really have no relevant value for me, jmo.

You are also correct about patients being able to leave the hospital, and return a short time afterwards. As long as the attending physicians agree, I don't have a problem with anyone doing so.

One of our close friends had all of his employees follow the CDC guidelines to the T each, and every day. Yet two of his employees contracted it with one of his longtime workers passing away from it. Even though they all worked in very close proximity with each other only those two were infected.

It shows this disease is very unpredictable. Look at how many in LE have had it even though masked, and some have died from it. Of course they have had thousands of unmasked protestors all across the nation screaming in their face most assuredly with the protestors spit landing on their face even though LE were masked.

I do worry about the long term isolation, and shutdowns, and how it's going to affect thousands or perhaps millions.

The collected data in so many subject matters during Covid will be interesting to learn, imo.

How many are committing suicide, and what category? How many more are overdosing on drugs? Will we find out child abuse, and DV has greatly worsened? How many are committing murder/ suicides? How many will wind up being alcoholics? How many will die because they were afraid to go to the hospital for care or needed surgeries?

I wouldn't be surprised if the data on all of those serious issues could result in being as high or higher in total as the death rates from Covid.

I also wonder if the soaring homicides, and attempted murders we are seeing will also be related to Covid shutdowns somehow?

Everything seems to have worsened since we were struck by this virus.

While Covid may be at the center the ripple effects will be far reaching when all the data is collected, and done. Imo

Jmho

So much agree with all the lives lost due to isolation and the effects of this virus. Just to think what could/should have been done... yet perhaps what can we do now?

and many many folks still are trying to grasp what exponential means as it's not a common understanding to this day. ( remember back to January/February how less than 100 cases worldwide, and just ONE dx in the US... but I digress as we didn't have testing/tracing/tracking as even an opportunity back then)

When did Trump last receive a negative test?
The timeline around when the White House learned the president had Covid-19 is critical.
Several times during press conferences on Saturday and Sunday, the White House medical team was asked - and refused to disclose - when the president last tested negative for the virus.

The official line from the White House is that the president began to feel ill on Thursday evening, tested positive and then announced his results in that late-night tweet.

[The] president's first positive on a rapid-test came before the president did a live phone interview on Fox News. He did not send his tweet until he received a positive finding from a second, more accurate testing process.

"I'm not going to give you a detailed readout with timestamps every time the president is tested," White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany told reporters on Sunday night. "He's tested regularly, and the first positive test he received was after his return from Bedminster." That's his New Jersey golf club where he attended a fund-raiser on Thursday.

Further complicating matters, during his opening statement during Saturday's press conference, White House physician Sean Conley said that the president's diagnosis came "72 hours ago" - which would have been Wednesday, before the president's Minnesota rally that night and that Thursday trip.

The White House subsequently issued a statement saying the physician "misspoke" and meant that the president was in his "third day" with the disease.

Unanswered questions about Trump's Covid crisis
BBM- Interesting he tested after the event rather than before. Wonder why?

I happen to disagree.

There is no reason for any of those families to feel disrespected. His quick trip to wave at his supporters so they could see that he was feeling stronger and to thank them for their support. And to assure the country that he was on the mend.

It was not a slap in anyone's face. In my opinion.

I agree with this. Even if he is feeling poorly, putting forth a brave front is in our nation's security interests.

JMHO...I would think any and all reporters in the WH press pool would consider/know the risk of exposure. They report on it daily. Many were in attendance at the SC nomination ceremony. If they are uncomfortable or feel a risk to their health, it is certainly permissible and I think should be encouraged to have the risk/exposure discussion with their employer.

Inside President Trump's Walter Reed parade - CNNPolitics

President Trump left the hospital, where he had been admitted with an infectious disease, to go for a car ride.

Odd. Every person who has tested positive for Covid-19 is placed under an order of isolation. Meaning, they cannot leave their home, unless to go to the hospital for medical treatment. This is to prevent infectious people from spreading the disease to non infected people.

As for Kayleigh, why wasn't she under an order of quarantine? She had been in direct contact to a positive Covid case?!

Do these people not understand the point of Contact Tracing? Isolation? Quarantine?! Were they not contacted by the health department and given their orders of Isolation?

Noted that in the tweet she did, she was very clear that her notification was from the White house, not the health dept. So that's a gimme as to why she didn't have to isolate? ;):eek:o_O

Perhaps they believe, as was noted previously, that the Federal Government employees are EXEMPT while on duty from DC regulations and laws re COVID. Perhaps health laws too from CDC?

BRB with link on such that they are exempt.

In light of his activities of the last few days, in retrospect it might have been safer for everyone for the president to have remained at the White House medical ward. That would have exposed far fewer people and no one at Walter Reed. jmo

It was reckless: he exposed other people to Covid for a photo op.

Like I said last night, that doctor doesn't know what he's talking about because he hasn't a clue about the ventilation systems that Presidential vehicles are equipped with. His statements were made to bash President Trump plain and simple. JMO
Wow. A strong statement.

Wow. I was prescribed prednisone for bronchitis earlier this year and I did not notice anything like an energy spurt!
Maybe I got a bad batch or felt so bad it was hard to tell!

When I took prednisone a few years ago I didn't notice an energy spurt, but it kept me awake at night. I stopped taking it before finishing the Rx (can't remember now why I was taking it).

How could the WH press not expect this or anyone else in the inter circle to test possible? They are keeping a running list.

Are WE surprised?

Why is the PC not wearing N95s and PPE? Surely they know the risk is great. How will they protect themselves in the future? Executives are protecting key anchor personnel, distancing, working from their living rooms. Its not like the networks don't know.

I'm not buying this. We ALL have a personal choice. Many of us, here on WS wore N95s, goggles and gloves when grocery shopping back in the early days, we've washed groceries, all decisions based on data sources reported by the media.

Jmho....

Understood as we all have followed Trudeau and Boris and many prior (those who have been following that is) as to their HEALTH as world leaders.

MOO both Trudeau and Boris took THEIR health as utmost as to their role for their countries. Trudeau isolated, and came out for pressers during his period, and Boris shared his difficulties... focus was obviously on science and their health as leaders.

Yet neither MOO went against, not either of them or any others including Putin etc if you even want to go there... would not take science at it's recommendations as to rest is what is needed and this is a "slap in the face" to science and getting the country to help get through this time.
