On September 16th, 1994 emergency responders arrived at the rail yard near Vine St in Fort Collins in regards to an unconscious male. He had been found inside an empty boxcar with a massive head injury. According to his autopsy report, the door of the boxcar had slid shut on him, resulting in "basilar skull fractures, "hinge" and "ring" types, fracture and dislocation of the atlanto-occipital axis, a fractured jaw, and multiple abrasions, lacerations, and contusions." His cause of death was multiple blunt traumatic injuries to his face, head, and upper trunk.

John Doe was approximately 5'9" and 140lbs, with abundant, wavy dark brown or black hair, brown eyes, and a black mustache. He had a well healed, old, circular traumatic scar on his back, a linear healed scar on the posterior of his hip (unknown side), and a thin scar on his left eyebrow.

Authorities speculated that John Doe was an undocumented immigrant, because the train had originated in New Mexico. It passed through Denver before finally ending up in Fort Collins. John Doe was wearing a red and blue nylon windbreaker, emblazoned with "ARA Services Mile High Stadium" (American Restaurant Assoc.). He was also wearing a long sleeved red shirt underneath a black and white plaid shirt. "Chana y Gris" was written on the thigh of his tan trousers, and he had on white athletic shoes. Also found in his pocket was a religious pamphlet from Jeremiah Baptist Church, Denver.

There are currently two rule outs; Rocky Najera missing from Carbon, WY in 1985, and Douglas Meer, missing from Boulder CO in 1982. Unfortunately due to a lack of criminal activity, the Larimer County Sheriffs office has closed John Doe's case without identification. I have his autopsy report and am happy to post it here if anyone believes it could be beneficial.

I feel like a reconstruction can help out this case. Would anybody be willing to do one?

There is one on Doe Network, but it's in pencil and pretty pixelated.

Donald Vallecillo looked good but it can't be him; John Doe has detached earlobes and a small widows peak, Vallecillo has a rounded hairline and small, attached earlobes.

Verburgt has greying hair, and I dont see any on John Doe, although it is possible that he had dyed it. Thank you for posting these!

Larimer County has a new sheriff as of January of this year, I have reached out requesting that genetic genealogy be used to find the identity of the boxcar man. Hopefully he will be more receptive than the prior sheriff.
