Assuming the last exit before the Texas border is the one were 77 passes under 35, I cannot find the location as described in the book. The investigators mention 77 being "the old road" as described by floyd. However (going on memory here, book at home, I am at work), there are two bends in the road that are on floyd's map. Getting on 77 from 35, once you turn on 77, there is only one bend before you get to Thackerville. Also, I think in the investigator's description, there is a lake. There are a few small lakes around and that is why i emailed Birkbeck. I have not heard back from him.

So, Sloane7777, is this the area you were looking at? I am wondering if I have the correct exit. I see a casino at this exit and maybe this exit is new if the casino was built after 1990. Any help would be appreciated.
 
You aren't alone Shimmy , I have wondered the same thing , even Floyd's GF Rebecca Barr lived in Springdale AR at one point which is not far , so if either of those losers had a female partner who was willing at any point it wouldn't surprise me a bit!

And I still think he killed Billy Tillery at this time, Maybe he wanted a boy to try to calm Michael or maybe he killed Michael and wanted to replace him, Billy's skull was found up the road in Sherman years later

I just watched the documentary. I have followed her case for years and read both books prior to having her identity back. I really don't know how I feel about her mother, I would think she would have done more to look for her than she did, but I guess back then things were a lot different than they are now.
 
I just watched it..and I said Suzanne Sevakis at the same time as the agent. I thought of you, Anmec and Sloane777.
I'm still wrangling with issues of whether Suzanne's 3 children were FDF's? And what happened to baby girl number one, before Michael and Megan. Thoughts? And I cried.

Okay I am a regular Websleuther but after watching the doc I came here. So I apologize if this has been discussed and if regulars know it has been, I am happy to go back and read all the threads. What happened to Suzanne's first child that was given up for adoption? The second was Michael and the third was Megan. Does anyone know? It is believed Michael's dad was the high school sweetheart (thought to be Gregory Higgs.) Has it been determined that Megan's dad was Floyd? Has Megan found the third child via DNA?
 
I'm another one who came here after watching the documentary. It's going to haunt me--how did Suzanne survive and seemingly thrive living the way she did? Lots of unanswered questions for sure and hopefully the popularity of the documentary will help solve more of the mysteries. IDK if I can dive into reading all the threads--that movie really got to me and I watch a lot of true crime shows.
 
Well after hours searching I only see articles that border on plagiarism and nothing new. No one searching first the first female child. I’m still trying to find the source of that information, that Suzanne had two girls and one boy.

Every article mentions Michael Hughes and Megan. Nothing else. Frustrating.
 
Why can't they do 23 and me etc to find familiar matches? They need to find the unknown child.
