Monday, November 14th:
*Change of Plea Hearing (@ 9:15am CT) - IN - Emma Grace Patricia Sweet (2) (Last seen Nov. 24, 2021, reported missing Nov. 25, 2021; found Nov. 28, 2021 -2 ½ miles downstream from truck. The death certificate filed for 2-year-old Emma indicates her manner of death as homicide & cause of death as complications of hypothermia & asphyxia due to drowning). Also Jeremy Sweet, dad & truck found Nov. 26, 2021 in the White River, Columbus, Bartholomew County. *Jeremy W. Sweet (38) arrested (11/28/21) & charged (12/1/21) with neglect of a dependent resulting in death & unlawful possession of syringe.
No actions were taken by her adult caregiver to rescue Emma from the dangerous environment & this inaction resulted in her death," the Bartholomew County Sheriff alleged in a statement, "and thus the manner of death is homicide."
Trial was set to begin on 8/23/22 continued to 12/13/22.

5/5/22: Order: Granting Motion to withdraw appearance of Aaron Edwards for defendant is withdrawn. Discovery filed. Change of plea hearing on 7/25/22. 7/25/22 Update: Hearing held. Defendant by counsel makes an oral motion to continue the change of plea hearing, pretrial conference & jury trial. State has no objection. Court grants continuance & sets new dates & deadlines. Change of plea hearing on 11/14/22 @ 9:15am, pretrial conference hearing on 11/28/22 @ 11am & trial set to begin on 12/13/22. No update on plea hearing.

At a change of plea hearing Monday in the caseof Jeremy Sweet, 40, his defense attorney, AndyMaternowski, moved for a resetting of dates because he told Bartholomew Superior 1 Judge James Worton the prosecution and defense were“still working through discovery.” Prosecutorsoffered no objection, and Worton reset Sweet’s next pretrial conference for March 13 at 9 a.m.and his jury trial for April 11.

We could probably throw those charges at him, too; but his lawyer might object. (I think you might still be on the Taylor thread). lol... This is Jeremy Sweet. And, yes, I did check multiple times to make sure I was on the right one. :)

Sounds good to me! My favorite error is to accidently update the next case down on my list instead of the one I'm posting.

Cases are really stacking up in Dec. I think the courts may be pushing to clear their calendars a bit for the holidays.

Many courts are still catching up from the pandemic backlog.
 
@Niner All of his dates are unchanged but they did add his omnibus date.
