IMO, it’s hard to differentiate. Could one on the roommates have seen XK on the floor? Or could one of the roommates had passed out when finding the dead bodies? It’s very hard to know the sequence of events
Maybe bottom floor roomie came upstairs—saw a body—called 911 In a hysterical state and possibly passed out? Perhaps D came out of her room at that point and called the frat house and they were close so got there before LE did. They may have discovered the top floor victims as well. I have no idea. Still too many unknowns. Lot of talk that they called their friends first, but I do not know if that is verified; imo they may have just arrived before the police. I can’t imagine either girl wanted to stay in the home after seeing the victims. Probably scared to death and in shock. May have dialed friends’ phone on autopilot so to speak.

I agree regarding Ethan's injuries, but in the end I think (this is a big MOO) that Murphy was the impediment leading to BCK's distraction and leaving the knife sheath behind. Imagine the dog's response to the killer in Maddie's room and then Kaylee crossing the hall saying, "There's someone here," with Kaylee running straight into him and Murphy already there. I believe Kaylee came from her own room and will think this until BCK says otherwise. Which would explain the difference in Kaylee's wounds which were more like tears because she was standing up when he slashed her from lungs to liver. Then he flung her on the bed with Maddie while the dog was going nuts, really really nuts. Doodles may not be barkers but blood pouring out of his two favorite people would turn him into one. Except BCK didn't want to kill an animal so he locked Murphy in Kaylee's bedroom and, in the midst of barking and scratching becoming a huge glitch in his perfect plans, the killer hurried downstairs to complete his purpose, knowing that the noise might alert the household... taking the knife but completely forgetting the knife sheath.
Something that I meant to mention is dogs and death. We asked our hunting dog to help us look for our missing cat (we lived in the mountains), she found what was left of our cat and pointed for husband and ran home instantly. Then at my Dad's death bed his doggie that was licking him moments before ran out of the room after he passed. As well as my dogs when I got home avoided the laundry room I'd put my clothes in, I spent awhile with Dad after he passed. I don't doubt Murphey was in K's bedroom by himself, death in his home and hid.

I agree, I do feel Maddy or/and Kylee were his targets, and IMO they were killed first. I think it’s huge terrible fate that Xana happened to be up when he came downstairs and so he had to kill her especially if he’d momentarily taken his mask off to put a fresh one on.

He couldn’t have known in advance that Ethan would be staying over either. So I suspect they were collateral damage. I’d also guess that Ethan was asleep while Maddy ordered food, and the fact she was on TikTok suggests he was too. So it would have been an easy cowardly kill for the murderer to stab Ethan while he was asleep, possibly laying on his front. He wouldn’t have stood a chance.
That’s kind of how I am looking at it right now as well. I think he went into the house and up to the third floor first. The timeline is already incredibly tight and given DM seen him walking towards her, it seems to suggest he was coming from X’s room before he passed her and left. Also if the noises above woke DM then I think X who must have been awake given her food order/TikTok scrolling at around 4:12am must have also heard them. I think it’s possible it was her who said “There’s someone here” or something to that effect rather than it being K.

How could he have known about the sheath?

This is such a horrific murder!

It’s made headlines worldwide, and I bet he’ll get off on that in a warped way. Then again, he failed at committing the perfect murder, so that will infuriate him.
In addition to saying that the killer left the sheath at the murder scene, "Pappa Rodger" also posted that he thinks that it only took the killer 15 minutes to commit the crimes. He also posted that Kaylee and Maddie weren't sleeping in the bed together, but that Kaylee fell on top of Maddie when she was killed. All of these posts were before the PCA came out with the sheath information in it.

Does anyone out there think he could possibly be innocent? I know the whole innocent before proven guilty thing, but it seems like they have quite a bit evidence against him.
IMO, I think it’s possible that he’s not guilty of the murders, but guilty of burglary.
(Drug seeking) or, there was somebody else there or BK showed up after the murders in the right place but at the wrong time or he was there with someone else, or he walked in on it while it happened, or he did it himself for a reason that I can’t possibly fathom.

seemed to have a hair cut too IMO, and clean shaven. If he is in some strict confinement, how does all this grooming occur? Assume (?) that he is not allowed sharp objects?
I thought similar but his neck was not shaved in his court appearance.

IIRC, he said the knife went all the way thru her liver. Not sure about the lungs. (God, what an awful thing to know about your child.) I don’t think I could sit in the courtroom and not jump on him. JMO
Ugh IMO, that is some fierce anger on the part of the killer. It’s like the knife had been plunged into her full force, and for what reason? I don’t get it.

It might not be something a lot of us think about, but people that know knives and deal with them regularly inferred from the early description of the weapon that it was likely something that required a sheath. It was something I saw many people bring up, the 'insider' was far from alone with that idea and I believe at least for IL's account it was deleted well after Bryan was arrested.

I think they have the right guy, but if this goes to trial then Dylan will have some serious explaining because anything that lends itself to her being less than cogent could impeach some or all of her testimony. IMO. But I still want to hear what the defense counters with....
As horrible as it sounds I think she may be more of a hinderance for the prosecution than a help.

Didn’t they post that the white car was irrelevant though?

People on here who we know aren’t BK made the same predictions about the sheath.

They didn’t get everything right, and they didn’t theorise anything that nobody but the killer could possibly have. LE will confirm if it was BK eventually, but I really don’t think there’s nearly enough there to assume it was unless that happens.

IMO, BK went to an ER or knew a DR/RN who could stitch him up?
Can you go to an ER privately? Or you suggest LE know this but didn’t yet release it?
Stitch up is possible but would still have been visible at his arrest. So that would be on record now.

Hello all. Long time reader buy made an account because this case hits close to home for a handful
or reasons. I did want to share a story about an incident that happened to me a few years ago just to illustrate that you honestly have NO idea how you would react in this situation and the people criticizing DM are killing me. On what planet does a 19 year old female, living in an extremely safe college town (per LE) think noise at 4am in her shared party house and seeing a man she doesn’t recognize = 4 of my closest friends have just been murdered?

I’m a professional woman in my 40’s (mom, husband, kids) and live in what you would consider an affluent suburb (leaning toward rural with 1+ acre lots) town. A few years ago I went for a run around 10am on a regular Tuesday. I was running down a main road at the edge of town where houses lined one side and forest lined the other. This was not a desolate road, there is traffic and borders a much more populated town.

As i was running a truck pulled up beside me and a somewhat friendly guy asked where the closest gas station. I stood back and told him to follow the road to one or he could turn around and follow another route. He thank me and continued down the road.

I changed direction and headed back on the same road (my planned route) and maybe 5 min later he had done the same and stopped me again. Said he was confused with my directions and asks again to the closest station. I repeated what i said and he thanked me and took off. I thought it was unusual but figured he was flirting or confused and I was on mine 8 and tired - it was late winter and I was getting cold so I was just focused on getting home and warm.

Until half a mile up the road, i saw he had pulled over to the side and was standing standing leaning on the hood of the truck. My initial
thought was sort of ‘huh? wonder why he stopped again?’ I wasn’t exactly scared, but it made me nervous. I crossed to the other side of the road and there happened to be a street into a neighborhood that I took instead of staying straight and running by him. I looked at him as I turned and he looked at me, waved and said ‘hey, good to see you again’. The neighborhood houses didn’t start for a bit so the road in was just woods. I looked back once i was in the sidestreet and he was back in his truck slowly following me.

At this point I knew this was not normal but I was confused and my mind sort of went blank because I couldn’t understand why someone would follow me. It didn’t make any sense to me. I was running like I always do. I sort of froze there in the middle of the street looking at him and trying to understand what was going on. He stopped the truck, got out, and started to jog towards me and by that point I was terrified and my mind just told me to RUN.
He followed me down the street and though one yard, maybe two, then stopped. I ran through a few more and then stopped and hid in a child’s playhouse in someone’s back yard. At that point I called my husbands cell which went to voicemail so I left him a sobbing message that I was chased and scared and didn’t know what to do. I waited in that little house freezing my *advertiser censored* off and scared out of mind for about an hour and then I ran home and locked myself inside. I look back at that day and can’t understand why I didn’t take a picture of the truck and license plate or call 911 or scream or bang on someone’s door. Even when I was hiding in the playhouse terrified my mind kept questioning if I made up with happened or it wasn’t as scary as I had thought. Maybe the guy just needed directions? The idea that someone may have been trying to take me or hurt me is just so hard for me to wrap my head around. It doesn’t ‘fit’ into my life. I ended up reporting the incident to the police but was beyond humiliated that I couldn’t think more clearly or strategically in the moment.

So, please be gentle to DM. We know a tiny portion of what happened that night and we should all hope to god we never experience a fraction of what she has had - and will have to process.
Welcome! And thanks for sharing your story as an example of how victims don't always think a situation rises to the level of needing to call 911.

That would have been a frightening experience for you--but I totally get the confusion about whether or not it rose to the level of needing to call LE.

Same thing with DM--she didn't call but why would she? She lived in a rooming house where others had guests at anytime they chose. She had no clue what had just happened.

We have to keep in mind that she too is a victim here.

Huh? How would anything she say counter all the evidence against him? The DNA, cell tower, Elantra video footage, and whatever else they may have. All these concerns about DM are so bizarre.

Matt Whitaker former Acting United States Attorney General under Trump. Matt says on Fox the other day "The real question alot of Americans are asking is why did she wait 6 hours till the next morning to call 911"?

She meaning DM, the survivor who saw the killer.
I have the same question. God bless DM and the families of all the victims of this incident.

OK, so this is a totally new subject from what I’ve seen discussed here today thus far… but I just wanted to mention that I watched Lawrence Jones Cross Country a few hours ago and they spoke with some of BK’s old “friends” (if that’s what you call people you do drugs with) about him, and what he was like back when he was heavily addicted to heroin. It was stated that BK is suspected to have been clean since 2017, but I’m only mentioning this because it was just a little shocking to hear about him being this massive heroin addict… it’s not what typically comes to mind when I think of BK under the current circumstances… and I guess it just makes me wonder how, or if, his past drug abuse has anything to do with his decision to commit these crimes. I mean, maybe they’re two completely separate things, and the drug abuse is all in the past and has nothing to do with this, but I don’t know enough about addiction or addictive tendencies to know how or if homicidal behavior can be interwoven with drugs. Sorry if it sounds like a stupid question or thought, I’m just ignorant about the matter and like I said, when I was watching Lawrence Jones, it just sort of struck me that we were talking about BK as this major heroin addict, because that’s not really what we’re discussing in the headlines or what I think of when I think of BK. Anyway, if anyone has any thoughts to add or insight, I am open to your feedback!
Good point. I don't know the answer but maybe there is a connection. Heavy use of drugs may impact the brain in non recovery ways.
However your post made me think about the pride his dad showed in those bodycam videos.
After the hell of knowing his only son was a major heroin addict, he came clean and was going to be a PhD.

Re heroin post (tried to quote but it did not post) In my experience with abuse, sometimes people with very intrusive thoughts use drugs to calm those unwanted strong thoughts. Just suggesting the two could be related but in another way. If he lost his coping mechanism and obviously had violent thoughts, it could be that he acted, rather than self medicated with drugs. We just don't know yet. Addiction is often used to bring comfort when someone feels nothing else if working. IME. Not condoning his actions at all. I just also find the addiction information very interesting. It does not fit what we knew previously and brings another dimension to this.
Heard a forensic psych say the same on a show yesterday, If true, begs the question of what he was doing to quell these violent urges in the years after he managed to break his heroin addiction ( Potentially up to 5 years)

We should all leave DM alone. She needs now support, help and love.
She is another victim.
The real question is Why an evil person killed four young people. IMO
